Telltale's The Wolf Among Us Episode Two Coming in February

Telltale says episode two of The Wolf Among Us is coming and that the delays that held back its release shouldn't happen again.

When the first episode of Telltale's The Wolf Among Us was released back in October 2013, it was easily one of the month's <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/reviews/10658-The-Wolf-Among-Us-Review-Episodic-Elegance>best treats. Building off of the mechanical foundation laid down by The Walking Dead: Season One, it delved into the world of Fables in a way that was both accessible for franchise newcomers and interesting for veterans of the acclaimed comic series.

That being the case, news about the game's continued release became somewhat scant following the release of its initial episode. With the months dragging on Telltale did manage to make several other announcements about <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/130330-Telltale-Games-Developing-Episodic-Game-of-Thrones>new games and <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/130326-Telltale-and-Gearbox-Teaming-Up-for-Episodic-Borderlands>partnerships, but failed to update gamers as to when The Wolf Among Us would be continuing. Now, Telltale has finally broken the silence and revealed that the game's second episode will be coming next month in the first week of February.

Posting on <a href=http://www.telltalegames.com/community/discussion/56934/official-episode-2-release-info>its forums, Telltale also assured its customers that the multi-month wait between episode one and episode two would not be the norm for the rest of the series. "We are very concerned about the long delay for this episode, but this is one of those occasions where several things conspired against us (not to mention the additional delays due to the holidays)," said a Telltale staffer. "It's been an unusual and specific set of circumstances and we do not anticipate it happening again as we go forward with the rest of the season." That's probably little solace for eager fans, especially after the cliffhanger at the end episode one. That said, we're willing to give Telltale the benefit of the doubt and look forward to playing through episode two in a few short weeks.

Any news on a Vita release date for this game? Last I heard it was supposed to be released in December alongside iOS, but that didn't happen. I loved having The Walking Dead on a portable system, so hopefully they'll do something similar with The Wolf Among Us and TWD Season 2.

Really enjoyed the first episode so definitely looking forward to more. This and lightning return are out in February, and then Dark Souls II is out in March. Gonna be busy with those three soon ^^

Huh, this is actually kind of an early announcement for Telltale. Normally, it's just "Yo people, game's out next week. Later."

Anyway, definitely looking forward to the second episode. :D

its because the people over on the telltale forums were pretty pissed about the lack of updates on the game, i mean the first episode came out like 3 months ago. lets hope we wont have to wait 3 months for every episode.

Hearing about Telltale's latest deals (Game of Thrones, Borderlands) has been a little like hearing your oncologist is getting married and going on a honeymoon tour of Europe. "Hey, I'm happy for you, man... but about this little thing we're working on here and now...?"

(Yes, I just compared waiting for a game with having cancer. Yes, I'm aware this is not remotely in the same order of magnitude. Let it pass or I shall roll my eyes at you sternly.)

Much as I loved Walking Dead, I've found myself waiting on buying into the new season until there's some assurance I won't be waiting multiple months between episodes of two series.

It doesn't help that they release the game go quiet on it and then start announcing several other new games. It lead to a feeling of "hey did they just take our money and push our game to the back burner?" and "weird no updates yet they keep announcing new products.."

I'm waiting to buy The Wolf Amoung us, I played the first episode at a friends and it was great but I can't deal with episodic gaming unless the games come out with in like 2 weeks of each other which they don't. So I'm waiting for the full season to be out.

A hairy tail that I'm sure many people are looking forward to. Never played any of their titles, myself. Guess I could always try out The Walking Dead on Steam.

Eh. Not a fan at all about how this has been handled. It's convinced me to never again buy a Tell Tale game until all episodes are out. That said, I still have little doubt the rest of The Wolf Among Us will be great.

About time it should come out. I expected them to release an episode once a month, but I guess this is alright.

I can't wait to get my hands on Episode 2, I really liked the first one.

In with all the others who like TWAU but are annoyed at the time it's taking. In the past episode releases were rarely longer then 2 months apart and usually the next release date was annouced each episode. The 3 month delay with TWAU is just irrtating.

And while I am quite interested in TWD and GoT, I really want to see more of TWAU first.

I will agree that it is frustrating that it has taken so long. HOWEVER. I would also it be done /right/. If a problem came up in the production that really did need this long to fix, I am glad they took it. Given the quality of their recent releases since TWD, I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on this one. Their releases may not be fast, but they are proving quite satisfying!

That said, after seeing all those big reveals so close together, I was definitely in the camp of 'OK, so, stop now!'. I can't imagine they can manage juggling 5 franchises without some or all of them being very half assed. When they announced GoT I was thrilled. Then they announced ... Whatever else it was after that, and I got pretty uncomfortable. They need to not get too overboard or they will either be spread too thin, or expand so fast that quality is the first thing to go.
