The Forest Gets Creepier
The new batch of The Forest screens shows off some kind of Lord of the Flies-type business... in Hell!
The more we see of The Forest, the worse it gets. In case there was any doubt, it's clearly a terrible place to be, full of grey-skinned dudes who want to eat your face. It's still not exactly clear what's going on, but it would seem that you arrived here via plane crash, and that you're very likely not the first person to check in and have a hard time checking out.
It would be a fairly standard "angry naked guys on a tropical island" kind of thing but for that one shot of those naked guys clustered bat-like on the ceiling of a cave. I know enough about being stuck outside with no clothes on to say that climbing things is generally harder, not easier, when you're all out there, and hanging from a rock ceiling? That's just not right.

It suggests to me that there's more going on here than just a simple hunt for Piggy and Ralph, but the developers at Endnight Games are still playing their cards pretty close to the vest, so the mystery remains. Whatever they've got cooking, I'm sure it will be a suitably awful experience. Can't wait to try it.
The Forest [http://survivetheforest.com/hom/] is being developed for PC and Oculus Rift. No release date has been set but an alpha version is expected later this year.
