Game of Thrones Joffrey Roast Recap Delivers Abundant King Slapping

HBO has released a Joffrey Roast Recap video compiling Game of Thrones' various moments of king-centric violence.

You almost have to feel sorry King Joffrey. Well, maybe not for the character, but you do have to feel a bit of sympathy for Jack Gleeson, the actor who plays him. From what we've heard he's apparently a pretty decent guy in the real world. That said, thanks to his role in Game of Thrones he'll probably be dealing with people snickering at the thought of slapping him for the rest of his life.

Case in point, watch this Joffrey Roast Recap and try not to smile. The video, released recently by HBO, compiles many of the various (and delightful) points in the series where someone has taken it upon themselves to crack the young king of Westeros right across his smug, venomous face. Accompanying that joyous spectacle are jokes at that character's expense snagged from Twitter posts. Put shortly, we don't have the willpower to keep a straight face and we'd be thoroughly impressed if you did.

Of course, the real treat for Game of Thrones fans will be the <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/131191-Game-of-Thrones-Season-Four-Premiere-Coming-April-6>premiere of season four which is scheduled to air on April 6th. While we can't be sure until it actually airs, something tells us we can probably expect the new season to deliver even more bashing of the boy king for Joffrey-loathers to love and then endlessly loop.

You know, I gotta say that the thing I like most about the adaptation is that they got really good actors to play the characters. Jack Gleeson was perhaps one of the best in my opinion

It's a shame he's going to die off in the show pretty soon. I hope they do the wedding/death well

I admit it never really caught my interest so I really don't watch it but I do tend to like the actor who plays the boy king

Don't know even Jack says he hates playing the part. Like a criminal who get caught. There a part of me who thinks he will be glad it's over. It sad because he is a great actor being loved is so easy. Being despised takes talent. More so when you really are a good person. I hope his next job content

Seem like acting can really kill a kids want to be an actor Jake Lloyd (Skywalker in star wars) has said he will never do it again and now Jack is seem to be against it

Yeah, it is a shame he's not going to continue acting after this. Seems he could be pretty good at it. But hey, if it's not for you why keep doing it..

Oh, no no just no, i won't do spoilers, i just won't.
Control yourself, Amaror!

That being said, is it true that teh actor doesn't want to be an actor anymore? It would be a damn shame. I mean many people will consider him to be king joffrey, but also many people will consider him as the guy that played king joffrey incredibly succesfull.
I mean Bryan Cranston turned from the good guy Dad of Malcom in the Middle,
to the evil Heisenberg in Breaking Bad, who says it can't be the other way around?

Yeah, I don't know why someone so pleasant would want this to be their last role. I mean, he's that weird looking kid in Batman and Joffery. Who wants that to be how they're remembered?

He's actually turning 22 this year, so I'd hardly call him a kid anymore, at least not in the sense Jake Lloyd was a "kid".

For anyone who's interested in hearing more about Gleeson's views, I'd recommend watching this video:

Don't let that stupid video title fool you, he provides excellent and insightful commentary on the subject. He's an amazingly intelligent young man, and if he wants to quit acting because it doesn't appeal to him anymore, I'm all for it. In fact I want to spur him on and let him do what he wants, not what studios and producers want.

That is fun, thanks for sharing.
