Tales From The Borderlands Screenshots Emerge

Tell Tale's foray into the Borderlands universe looks pretty much exactly as you'd expect it to.

Borderlands has always been a world of "shoot first, ask questions later" so many were somewhat, puzzled, when master question-askers Tell Tale Games announced that they would be making an adventure game based on the series [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/escapist-news-now/9156-Tales-From-the-Borderlands-Coming-Summer-2014]. Sony have now given us our first peek at the game, and as we saw in the trailer, it certainly keeps Borderlands' distinctive art-style, while overlaying it with the same kind of dialogue tree that most Tell Tale games use.

Check out the screenshots below:

"If you pause to take a breath between shooting everything in sight and stealing your buddies' loot in multiplayer, you'll know that Borderlands features some amazing characters and stories in a world that's rich in dark humor. Handsome Jack, Claptrap, Tiny Tina, Angel, Moxxi, Zer0... it's a big list. We are all about compelling characters and stories, and we see an amazing opportunity to build on what Gearbox has created," said Tell Tale.

Along with the screenshots, some more info about the game was dropped. Most interesting to Borderlands fans would be that the loot you find in Tales From The Borderlands will actually be made available to use in other Borderlands games. Furthermore, each episode will set you back $4.99, and the game will take place after the events of Borderlands 2.

This one looks like it's shaping up to be quite an interesting game. Let's just hope that Tell Tale hasn't too thin... [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/130330-Telltale-Games-Developing-Episodic-Game-of-Thrones]

I like the UI change and by UI I really just mean the timer. Also, arms. I hope they move beyond QTE if they plan to have combat sequences.

My memory of Borderlands seems a bit different. I remember some really obnoxious characters, a ridiculous story full of gaping holes and terrible pay-offs and a world that's only rich in weakly regurgitated internet "humor."

But that may just be me.

That all being said, this is Telltale rather than Gearbox so maybe they'll be able to do something worthwhile with the setting.

It's still not a lot to go on before I start to get hyped, but I'm still looking forward to this game.

Are you talking about Borderlands, or Borderlands 2? Because the sequel was a huge improvement. I'd actually say it was one of the best-written games I've played in quite some time.

Actually it was Borderlands 2 I was thinking about. The first game's story didn't amount to much more than some occasionally funny flavor text that was easily ignored. The only character who really, really annoyed me was the angel. Well, her and Claptrap, of course.

In the second game, though, I don't think there was a single character who didn't get on my nerves. I guess it all comes down to personal taste but the writing in Borderlands 2 just pushes all the wrong buttons for me.
