The Affleck Batman And Batmobile Are Positively Miller-Esque

Year One[/I] and The New Batman Adventures over the ponderous quasi-exo skeletons of the two film series. (That is not to say I prefer Frank Miller's Batman itself. But that's a conversation for another time.) Naturally, the textures obscured by black and white in this photo may turn out to look as silly as Superman's mesh uniform in Man of Steel, and those abs are almost comical. But for now at least, this seems at least partly on the right track. I'm still skeptical about Man of Steel 2: Batman Goes West. Obviously, aesthetic choices do not equal quality. But for the first time I'm also mildly looking forward to this movie.

What do you think, readers? Sound off in comments.

UPDATE: Coming Soon has posted [http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=118184] a very high res version of the photo that reveals far more about the suit's textures. Special thanks to commenter Mr. Q for pointing this out. Click the gallery to see for yourself.

Since Affleck went to the trouble of putting on the cape and cowl, you'd think he'd at least wear a shirt underneath.

I think it's a bit of a stretch to say anyone's looking FORWARD to this movie, since this is the first we've been able to even look AT this movie in any respect.

No Bat-nipples, just Bat-abs.... and Battfleck... Actually I think he can pull it off despite the negative internet crowd. Just hope the script isn't so horrible I'd be begging Schumacher to come back and do another one.

Looks okay. Looks like a cross between The Dark Knight Returns and New52 suits. Hardly the "OMG! You've never seen anything like this before" suit that was being teased at the start of the year.

I'm guessing it's also no coincidence that the Batmobile's kind of looking like the one from Arkham Knight.

Though I find it kind of funny that Zack Snyder's adherence to product placement appears to extend to his Tweets now...

Yes, more greyness and shadows! Because if there was one thing Man of Steel needed more of that would be a dreary color scheme.

So many abs! You could do your laundry on his stomach!

OT: I've been watching Batman: Brave and the Bold and its opened my eyes to a world where Batman and humor can live side by side. Where Batman speaks in 30% illiteration and dogs have jetpacks. I guess the "dark and gritty" take just doesn't seem as great anymore.

My first thought after seeing the image was "Are you sure this isn't a screenshot from Batman: Arkham Knight, Snyder?" Seriously, they couldn't have offered a color photo to the masses?

BTW, for those of you who'd like an image that is a bit more clear, Superherohype.com/Comingsoon.net has offered a brightened version.

While I'm not crazy about the Frank Miller design aspect, it does look promising. Glad to see a suit that isn't black rubber armor. I do wonder if Ben Affleck can turn his head with that cowl or not. Overall, not too bad. Just wish we got a better look at the Batmobile and a color image of Batfleck. Still, it is a hell of a lot better than J.J. Abrams giving us a sever case of blue balls in regards to Star Wars: Episode VII.

OK, fingers crossed on Wonder Woman turning out decent.

Nah, I've seen everything I need to know this movie will be 10/10, would recommend. I mean, what else do you need, guy wearing a mask that looks so damn stupid, and a car. Sorted.

Why I am still not excited for this movie. I just don't understand, I should be jumping for joy right now!

Ok seriously, Is anyone still hoping this movie will be fun? or at least have some sort of positive outlook? because what I am seeing is another dark and gritty movie.

I... don't like it. Sorry.

Partly, I just not a fan of the Miller look. Those small horns look cute and silly, rather than threatening. That bat symbol is... I'm looking for a word other than 'fat'. (Note, I'm commenting on the symbol itself, not batman.) And the fact that it's conjuring up images of middle aged batman doesn't fit well - since I'm assuming a young Superman would imply a young Batman...

Yep, definitely not thrilled for this movie. I invite it to blow my socks off in amazement... I just don't think it's going to do so.

I have to be honest, they aren't going to do Dark Knight Returns. Based on that: Frank Miller is the WORST person to take anything from because he HATES superheroes. Zach Snyder is an idiot who is going little more than name dropping at this point because he doesn't have a whole lot to add to anything at this point.

I have an idea: Why don't we make a Batman/Superman movie that tries just a little bit to be like the comics. I mean, so far, that is the very thing that is working for the Marvel movies, they aren't ashamed of their heritage.

It's kinda funny that a movie with Batman and Superman in live action for the first time doesn't incite excitement anymore. How things have changed.

Yep, that's Ben Affleck cosplaying as Batman. Didn't think he could pull it off, but it looks decent. Of course, it's one thing to be able to wear a costume and another to have the physicality to match. It looks like he won't be able to turn his head, but the rest looks light and elastic enough he won't be a damned statue.

If they really want me to be interested in this film, they'll release a still of Batman and Superman in the same shot - hopefully they get to interact in character a lot during the movie and not just meet up for a climactic final battle. I want Batman in this movie, not two and a half hours of Bruce Wayne moping around. We already know his origins, it doesn't need to be retold. Start out in the middle like with Burton's Batman.

He looks like a big old bruiser, built for strength, not so much speed and agility.

The Batmobile does look cool though, a lot more gothic Burton style, which isn't a bad thing.

There's also a noticeable Bat-bulge going on in the crotch area, which is a new one.

Don't ask me how I noticed... I was just examining the suit. Honest.

The Ears and FatBat Logo I don't like but everything else is fine. We finally get a grey suit and it seems we are getting that mesh style armour from the Arkham games.

I was still hoping for a yellow belt to help with the contrast but we'll see.

We don't blame ya, it is Ben Affleck :D

But honestly, i liked Man of Steel (more or less) and i can say that im genuinely looking forward to this film.
I doubt it's gonna be worse than Batman Forever or Superman Returns ;D

Totally agree about Wonder Woman looking good for being good looking now. Because currently the best Wonder Woman outfit ever is still the one to the right (compared to the one they were going to use for the TV series on the left*shudder*) Which is rather embaressing, considering the right hand one is for a porno. But then that company still had a better looking Batsuit than the one in the Nolan movies too, as well as a proper Catwoman outfit.

I'm loving the Miller-esque Batsuit myself, looks georgeous, even better than the Burton Batsuit, but different strokes, different folks. I wonder if that's all Aflec in that picture? The cowl does look like it's made out of rubber or rubber esque material, but I'm guessing that he will be able to turn his head this time, the suit looks very light plus I'm pretty sure Bale could in 2 or 3. I'm still not entirely sold on Batfleck or Gal Gadot, but I'll be damned if Afflec isn't rocking that Batsuit like he was born for it, aside from the chin,(which even to me, is nitpicking at this point) he looks like he lept from the pages of DKR.

I've gotta say Batffleck's(?) Batchin is looking pretty good, way better than Baleman's Batchin.
Oh, and the Batsuit and Batmobile looks ok too I guess.
