Legend of Korra Review: Definitely Not the Last Airbenders

Though we're approaching the mid-point of Book Three, this pair of episodes focuses on backstory and the training of new airbenders rather than pushing the story forward.

No comment on poor Bosco's fate? I wonder if the Earth Queen will be dealt with this season or the next one as there hasn't been that much development and there is only 6 episodes left.

I suppose I have to give it to the writers for given a justify reason on why we should had supporting Lin as she was supporting Toph whose most of us have loved (so Suyin did had a secret afterall). Still I don't think a 30 years without commication with each other is justify exepcially when Suyin mention she had reconcil with their mother. As for the suddent changed of character from Lin, I just assume those acupuncture were good stuff!!!
Last thing about that episode, I didn't really get Bolin insecurity over his inability to bend metal? It just make me think it was a metaphor for something else down below Bolin. Still I wonder if Bolin does gain the ability to metalbend in the next episode before Zaheer and co arrived? Oh I don't think that villain did killed those cop? I mean she did knock the cars over but they may had survive the crash?

As with the other episode, I thought it was a nice gag when one of the new airbender is named "Otaku" (it probably spell differently). I actually find Korra really cute in that she actually give wisdom well a good advice to Tenzin on how to educate his pupils better. Lastly yeah Jinora does deserve to have the tattoo (would she have to shave her head to get the tattoo properly done?). Oh also would Kai aggressive airbending is going to be a thing as in would he let out an outbust again?

Yeah, I don't think it's a complete turn around for Lin. I'm sure she'll be just as dry and abrupt, but maybe a bit more forgiving. It's amazing how good you can feel after 16 hours of sleep!

The airbender episode was about as filler as filler episodes get. My favourite moment was definitely freshly shaved head anticipating the net attack. That was sooo funny.

But the show makers have stated the story is about people around Korra as much as, if not more than, about Korra. So they had to catch up with Aang's descendants.

There were so many little lines and moments I wanted to give shout outs for, especially "How many push-ups did you do last night? Cause I did, like, 50." I'm still laughing over it.

He's not just insecure, he mentioned that he's tried to metalbend throughout his life and has never been able to.

Very upset at the way Nickelodeon is treating Korra. It's like they're purposely trying to make it fail and they're just pushing the episodes out as fast as they can so they'll never have to air it again. Plus they're marketing is horrible as well. I'm seeing commercials for one of their new sitcoms all the time, on different networks even, but nothing on korra. The only reason anyone knows about the 3rd season is because of the fans. They don't run any reruns of anything avatar related either.

She's the true villain this season.

As the episode concludes, Tenzin agrees that Jinora may be mature and skilled enough to get her airbender tattoos. It's odd though, he comes to this conclusion after she storms off out of frustration and gets herself captured.
I don't know, I saw this more as Tenzin going "Yeah maybe I'll think about it", like some parents say to make their kid happy for the moment, but don't actually go through with it hoping the kid will forget or move onto something else.

I was also hoping that Korra wouldn't be able to metal bend (she has all of the elements, like you said, would probably not be able to do the more specialized stuff), but Bolin would try it in secret and discover he's absolutely awesome with it. I feel like Bolin as a character gets the short stick.

Are these articles a recent thing? I know IGN reviews every episode, but it seems the escapist is starting to do it too.

Which I welcome! I love the original series and this show seems to get better with each episode. I hope this show goes on forever.

I'm really glad you like them. We are doing more reviews now and Korra was something I was really excited to cover. Thanks for the feedback.
