Fan Trailer Re-Imagines Up as a Michael Bay Film

YouTube user MrStratman7 has released a video reinventing the Pixar classic Up as a Michael Bay action flick.

<a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/the-big-picture/9491-Leave-Michael-Bay-Alone>Michael Bay is a man of very specific talents. If you want a movie, for instance, filled with more explosions and pyrotechnics than some actual wars, he's the guy you go to. When your goal, however, is to produce a cleverly written animated film that breaks your heart in the first ten minutes while still being entertaining for all ages, you're probably better off looking up at the folks at Pixar.

Ever wonder what you'd get if you crossed the two?

No, we hadn't either. That said, <a href=https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1gcUR-3hiM3T1GVuyQ3LAA>YouTube user MrStratman7 recently took it upon himself to give the world a glimpse at what a movie like Up would like if Mr. Bay had been the driver behind the steering wheel. Not surprisingly, the end result is overdramatic, explosion-laden, filled with Inception wahs and those weird blue-ish lens flares he seems to like so much. Also, Linkin Park's What I've Done makes an appearance.

And while this was clearly made with laughs in mind, I honestly could see myself going to this movie. Granted, that might just be my pro-Up bias speaking. After all, I already know it's a good movie and a few explosions aren't going to change that. That said, while I don't particularly like <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/tag/view/michael%20bay>Bay's films (except for <a href=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qD5GtohtRYU>The Rock), I do have to admit that they often look like a lot of fun in trailers. It only makes sense that a video emulating that would look good too. Give it a watch and let us now what you think.

This. Is. Fantastic.

My god, I love it so much.

Also reminds me of the Mary Poppins trailer edit which turned it into a horror film.

There's a touch too many random explosions (not by much mind, but it could have done without some of the "what are clearly solid rocks are now gonna explode randomly"), but otherwise this is pretty fantastic. The guy's got talent at editing.

Whoa whoa whoa, back up. You mean to imply Mary Poppins isn't a horror movie? It's a film about the extradimensional eldritch horror who lures children into its grasp and devours their minds and souls! How can it be anything else?

That was really funny. The random gratuitous explosions made me shake with laughter.

captcha: up or down. Up up, Michael Bay down.

If you didn't stay till the very end, then you missed out on the best (or worst) part.

That video was very interesting and informative. Gives me sort of new found respect for Bay's filming style regardless of how I feel about his final products.

That ending was actually very f-ed up. It's totally something Michael Bay would do.

He beat me to it. The essence of Bay is camera movement everywhere. I'd have suggested zooming in on the images so that there can be constant gratuitous pans.

I gotta say, the random explosions in such hilariously inappropriate places had me absolutely dying. Excellent work.

It needs the jumpy-blurry action shots. While you're watching the video, hold down the F11 key to get that effect.

If you can, watch the rest of the videos in his channel. They are all rather interesting.

Yup. I subbed and watched a few videos already. That Edgar Wright one was spot on too.
