An okay gallery, but why in the world would you pick a screenshot from the unlicensed Sega Mega Drive port of Duke Nukem 3D? It's horrendous compared to the original.

Also, I'm kind of fed up with this kind of articles. I get that the Escapist gets more ad revenue by having us click 7 times, but it's really just too annoying. Usually, in the case that it concerns an interesting topic, I just go directly to the comments, because it's a quicker way to see which games ended up on the list..

Visual novel? You mean the game? The books on my shelves are visual novels (although I've never heard anybody call them that before.)

But yeah, that game was the first thing to pop to mind when I read the article title. It does make sense that it's not on the list though, since it doesn't take place on the moon.

Visual novel is the actual term used to describe games that are largely text-based and story-based though (although most visual novels have quite a different setup than To The Moon). 999, Virtue's Last Reward, Katawa Shoujo, Steins;Gate, Clannad, etc. are all VNs. But yeah, this list instantly made me think of To The Moon, even though, as you said, you don't actually go to the moon in it.
