New Mass Effect Achievements Hint at Upcoming DLC

In the surest sign yet that new DLC for Mass Effect [http://masseffect.bioware.com/me1/] is imminent, three new Achievements have quietly been added to the game.

Gamers have been waiting for the second Mass Effect DLC release since message [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/92225-Second-Mass-Effect-DLC-Details-Coming-Soon] on BioWare's Twitter feed said news about the DLC "may be coming this week," but the week came and went with nothing said about it. In fact, virtually nothing has been said since and these three new Achievements appeared with absolutely no fanfare whatsoever.

Each of the new Achievements is worth 50 points, bringing the total for Mass Effect to 1200. They are:

Undisputed - Complete Ahern's survival mission
New Sheriff in Town - Take first place in any combat scenario on Pinnacle Station
Best of the Best - Take first place in 12 combat scenarios on Pinnacle Station

Is the new DLC finally ready to go? BioWare [http://www.bioware.com] has remained mum on the topic but the addition of these new Achievements is a good sign that something is on the way. They're also a pretty clear indicator that early reports that the new add-on would center around some sort of casino/gaming/Fight Club space station" were accurate.

We've contacted BioWare for more information and will update when we find out more. Stay tuned!

Sounds interesting enough. Never downloaded the first dlc, because I had already completed the game and didn't feel like starting over. But now I actually have a new profile... Can't wait for more info.

The only thing that can describe my joy is a twelve line long WHOOOOOOO!!!!! I'll spare you, and suffice to say I'll be playing through ME again.

Bring Down the Sky was okay, but I'm hoping for more this time around. Still, more Mass Effect can't be a bad thing.

See this is why I love Bioware - long after the game stopped bringing in $50 bills, they are still supporting it and adding some DLC love, like they did with Neverwinter Nights for oh so many years.

Unlike SOME companies. I'm looking at you, Activision's PROTOTYPE.

I wonder how long PC gamers will have to wait to get access to that new DLC, another 6 months?

Couldnt make it 1250? 1200 is not cool, nor is 1300
or 1450
1000, 1250, 1500
Use THOSE numbers. Achievement numbering is pissing me off.

Awesome, more achievements just make me want the new DLC even more. I can't wait for it to come out, I've been waiting for it for a long time.

Has anyone played it yet? What do you think?
I've finished it and its not bad. A lot of people have been very negative about it but personally I found it fairly enjoyable and a good challenge (playing it on insanity is probably the only challenge I've ever had in Mass Effect). Don't buy it unless you are a fan of the combat system since its really just a arena with 13 different challenge stages.
