The Force Awakens Trailer Gets Wacky "George Lucas" Version

YouTuber imagines The Force Awakens as one of the "Special Editions."

The Internet is still working out its reactions to the first trailer for Star Wars - Episode VII: The Force Awakens; [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/138813-Watch-Star-Wars-Episode-VIIs-First-Official-Trailer-Right-Here] but one enterprising videomaker is wasting no time reminding fans what otherwise might have been.

YouTuber back in 2012. [http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXoIFuHdVHm-Zp9umA2seRQ] As expected, Dewbacks, foreground-clutter and CGI creatures abound, but keep an eye out for more subtle gags as well.

A prolific video-producer, Shanks was also behind video game-based viral hits like "How I Play Skyrim." [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxDJHA_tOzo] Episode VII (the real one) is due out December 2015.

For those who may have missed it, this is the "Crazy Lens Flare" Edition. Only time will tell which of these two is more accurate.

The part making fun of the "Han shot first"-controversy made me laugh the hardest. There's just something so deliciously alien about making the guy's head twitch. Not to mention how ludicrous the situation is, of course.

Had there been more grip to that lightsaber it would've kept going...

You're not gonna mention that he did the excellent Escapist series Doomsday Arcade?

But yes, this is excellent. I love it so much.

That's what I was thinking.

I honestly couldn't stop laughing at the last scene, all of those tie fighters.

That's much better. I don't get the cave rock hole thing following the droid though.

I'm actually so damn happy that we need a Lens Flare Edition of the trailer, meaning that the actual trailer doesn't have much lens flare. And isn't that awesome?! I'm actually hopeful about the new movie now! A JJ Abrams flick without a lot of lens flare, now that'd be a treat.

It'd be even funnier if the lightsaber's cross beams were as long as the blade. It'd look like he was holding a pair of Tetris blocks...

I admit, I almost peed a little while laughing at the Lightsaber. Almost as much as when I saw Inquisitor's Spinning Double Lightsaber in Star Wars: Rebels...

Is it wrong to think that the lens flare effect on the red lightsaber actually made it look a little bit cooler?

This is how he always envisioned the movies he was never a part of, but the technology wasn't available at the time.

Holy crap! Enough TIE fighters??
In Lucas' original vision there are 6.8 million TIE fighters chasing the Falcon.

This really isn't that funny at all. Its more sad than anything.
It's an artistic choice. How dare you criticise an artist's vision?

I'm not criticizing per say. I just don't find it funny. Maybe its because I'm sick of people taking back handed swipes at Lucas.
