Marvel Releases "Ant-Sized" Ant-Man Teaser

Marvel has released a miniaturized Ant-Man trailer that only an ant could see.

Next Tuesday, Marvel will be airing the first episode of its new <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/138290-Marvel-Releases-First-Official-Agent-Carter-Teaser>Agent Carter TV series. With it, moviegoers will get their first real glimpse of the company's <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/134763-Edgar-Wright-No-Longer-Directing-Marvels-Ant-Man>upcoming Ant-Man film via a teaser scheduled to air during one of the show's commercial breaks. That being the case, <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/tag/view/marvel>Marvel has apparently decided to give enterprising fans an early opportunity to get a glimpse of the flick via a special "ant-sized" teaser trailer.

And when Marvel says "ant-sized" it doesn't just mean that it's short. To be sure, the actual film footage included in the teaser only spans about ten seconds. That said, the "ant" part of the trailer comes from the way the actual image is displayed. Unlike a normal trailer, the footage released today has been shrunken down so that it only inhabits a minuscule part of the overall screen. In other words, you're probably not going to get much out of it unless you max out your zoom and have a ton of patience.

Not that people probably won't try any ways. In fact, maybe that's what Marvel and Disney are hoping for. Maybe they want fans to be distracted by this miniaturized teaser so the "human-sized" one coming out January 6th might have a chance of not being leaked before its scheduled release. Considering <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/138169-Avengers-Age-Of-Ultron-Trailer-Leaks-A-Week-Early>how well things went the last time they tried to keep an anticipated teaser under wraps, we wouldn't put it past the two companies to try and draw our attention with a decoy. What do you think? Are Disney and Marvel being devious? And were you able to catch anything from watching this teaser?

I think that it's genius for a teaser trailer. I personally was going to watch Agent Carter anyway, but this is a pretty clever way of trying to get people to watch it.

On a side note: did they ever catch the guy who leaked the trailer? And if so, what happened to him?

A teaser for a trailer to entice more viewership for a risky TV series that is make or break for Q1 2015. Hmmm......nope, won't get sucked in.

Really though, I can't tell if this is genuinely clever, a spot of good trolling, a deliberate "Fuck you" or some kind of beautiful combination of the three.

"Are Disney and Marvel being devious? And were you able to catch anything from watching this teaser?"

I think it's funny. A little bit of fanservice too.
Catch anything, though? That's generally the job of trailers, not teasers.
Teasers are just meant to... well, tease. ;)

CAPTCHA knows the truth though: "Bowties are cool".

They have before this was even posted except it's fuzzed over.

Also...has the Reply box shrunk too or is it my imagination?

I saw water. There will be some body of water in the film for at least one scene. So we know that that scene didn't happen in Kansas.

There, that is what I got from the trailer. I hope that helps someone :p

In all seriousness, I think the better thing to do would have been to have the "ant sized" version, and then have the "giant sized" version, and play it on the screen in Times Square, as a part of Jimmy Kimmel. Because Ant man can become giant man (granted he can become human man too) but human man doesn't have a costume (other than a lab coat).

Full screen does nothing. I guess we get an ant to watched it and get it to tell us what its saw? Well either that of get a manifying glasses in the mean time!

Well ok I was able to make out that at the start of the teaser trailer, there was a guy being arrested (two guys on his sides), some shot of the sea, a woman and then it look like he open a suitcase containing the Ant-man suit. The rest, it went by too fast!

Okay, Marvel is just trolling us now. First a trailer for a trailer for A2 and now this. Marvel, you're being silly :)

Fullscreen doesn't help. The video quality is too low to see anything for most of the clip regardless of how you zoom.

A teaser for a teaser for a trailer. Well done marketing, you've certainly outdone yourself this time.

If you squint and turn it sideways you can get it to 2/10. I think there's something phallic in that water/skyline shot. Ant-sized scenery porn FTW.

That's pretty clever actually xD
Waiting for the first trailer to get a glimpse of what the movie might be like, no idea what to expect to be honest, but I am going to watch it :D

I hate these teasers for a teaser trailer. Because it creates hype for the teaser and then if the teaser ends up disappointing then it sucks some of the interest in the movie. :-( But i have faith in Marvel. Their teasers for the teaser for Avengers 2 were well done and gave away just enough to keep you interested.

So, I can't make out anything but broad strokes, but I'm betting the arrested man at the beginning is Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, right?
