Sailor Moon Tarot Cards Will Make You Want Your Cards Read Now

In the name of the moon, I will have my cards read!

Now you can call upon the divine in style, thanks to DeviantArt's Tarot card series [http://sillabub429.deviantart.com/] featuring the beloved characters of Sailor Moon. Tarot cards are generally gorgeous works of ornate art in their own right, but add Sailor Moon to the mix and you might as well just bleed my bank account dry.

Each character is a fitting representation of their card. Queen Beryl is looking incredibly devlish as The Devil, Mercury's calm and steady nature shows through in Temperance, and Mars' fiery demeanor lends perfectly to the High Priestess card (not to mention she was, you know, a priestess in the original canon).

Take a look at some of her glorious creations below and head over to her DeviantArt page [http://sillabub429.deviantart.com/gallery/50987996/Sailor-Moon-Tarot] to see the full series.

I usually complain about the fanart stuff in the news but oh gosh. These are just wonderful. The Rei and Makoto ones especially. I do really like how they look very faithful to the original art style. I prefer it a million times over the awful Sailor Moon Crystal designs.
Makoto really is quite lovely.

Were these up for sale? Or was the bleeding your wallet dry thing just an off-hand comment? I'd consider buying them if they weren't silly expensive.

Nice art, but a bit lacking for Tarot cards.

First, all the major arcana are present, but that still leaves all the minor arcana so they're not fit for most readings.

Second, important symbolism is lacking, and most of the cards are done as a strait portrait, and lack any symbolism other than the character you recognize. For example, The Empress, is just Usagi as Queen, but lacking the Neo Queen Serenity look. The problem with this is that The Empress is supposed to symbolize the expectant mother, and is frequently shown as pregnant. It could have worked had the artist made her older, and put in indications that she was pregnant. Maybe put a Chibi Usagi toy at her feet or something.

Then some of the cards are swapped out. The Lovers is supposed to be an Adam and Eve symbolism. This wen't for Just Venus sanding in an Expectant mother pose which makes it a better empress card, but still mostly just a pose.

The Moon actually make a better devil card because The Devil is supposed to be the Adam and Eve symbolism, but from the devils perspective.

If there were a complete Deck with appropriate level of detail put into the symbolism then I would consider buying such a deck for my father. As it sands this is really not for people who would use them in a reading, but rather just put them on a shelf.

Shut up and take my money! Seriously, I keep throwing money at the screen but nothing comes out! D:

OT: Oh these are lovely, I'd give anything for a real life set of them to have on my shelf.

I have only one thing to say about this:

SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!

So yeah, fucking awesome. Too bad it's only the Major Arcana - I wouldn't mind a full on actual deck.

Where is the person that is supposed to be getting mutilated by twelve swords?
