blue shells are nothing.

OT: mario party and mario kart are probably my two biggest offenders, some of my friends get crazy competitive at the mini games in mario party to the point that we break controllers regularly (they hold the controllers in completely fucked up fashions to be able to button mash/do something the fastest, in turn they break the buttons on them.)

it would be interesting to figure out how many controllers people have bought to replace controllers from mario party mini games..nintendo sure knows how to get you to be a repeat buyer.

Left 4 Dead is one I'm a bad offender for in one way in particular. My friends and I play a trinity of Valve published games (Dota 2, L4D2 and TF2) and in Left 4 Dead I ALWAYS set off the car's alarm. We all skype and I just love the groan they make when it happens, especially when we're almost out of sight of the car and they think it's no longer in my line of sight.

Left 4 Dead 2 is the only reason I'm commenting.

Fact. The grenade launcher is useless. The chainsaw is only useful for crowning witches without a shotgun, and you have to be good to do it.

Fact. All of your friends will fight over it, use them right next to you on Expert, and act like you should have known that the AI would swarm you, and you should found a way to break the game and get out of the surround the second it happens, or that you should be grateful that they just simply downed you! Because heaven forbid you actually fight your way out and simply have low health instead of being downed and said friend had the chance to pad out his kill score...

Oh my god yes Left 4 Dead 2... I've seen youtube channels and my own friends actually break apart hating each other forever because of that game. Team based games require less random Molotov fights.

Iv played with a person who openly laughed as he was called out on screen watching and said it's how you play the game. I wanted to punch them in the face so hard.

I hate when ppl do that then act like it's skill.

I agree full heatedly with both Mario Party and Portal 2... especially when I tired playing Portal 2 co-op with both my friend, my cousin, and my mother... *shutters*

Other than that, I would personally add Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 to the list especially if your friend's been playing the game longer than you... You would think it would be simple (O button to start a combo --> Triangle to end combo in jutsu/technique --> Charge while opponent is down --> Rinse and Repeat), but considering the matches take place on a full 3D field and your opponent knows how to navigate the field better than you because, again, they've played the game longer than you, good luck hitting them with a single combo, considering there's also button to avoid most combos... I would rather play any of the Mario Party games at this point... Plus, honorable mention to Call of Duty-based multiplayer where perks come from killing your opponent than from your opponent killing you...

I think Mario Party and Kart could've been lumped together (or one or two games featuring turtle-slaying plumbers could have been axed) to make room for Contra or Battletoads. Shared lives, anyone?

So basically every Nintendo game with multiplayer focus.
Nintendo games are family friendly, at least until you play with friends, then they might as well encourage you to go straight for the throat.

OT: I am quite surprised by the lack of a MOBA on this list. I have been shouted at more by friends because I have stole a kill, died, or a missed a kill on LoL more than I have been shouted at in any game ever.

[small]Though there was this one time on Assassin's Creed: Revelations multiplayer, where I had an obsession with throwing knives (slowed enemies, and caused them to fall of buildings if they were climbing) to the point where it caused my friend to never play Assassin's Creed multiplayer ever again. He taunted me saying that he would quit, and I didn't believe him. He was serious. Didn't even skip a beat.[/small]

Animal Crossing can do it when your so called friend decides to visit your town and bury pitfall seeds everywhere.

I lost a friend in Super Mario 3, just because I always made him play the difficult levels.
