James Bond's SPECTRE Stands Revealed In New Trailer

According to the new SPECTRE trailer, Daniel Craig's James Bond will hunt a villainous organization with direct ties to his rebooted past.

James Bond was never a franchise that needed explicit reboots - it could just move onto alternate threats, villains, and Bond girls with a new actor and little fuss. Yet Daniel Craig's run has been proving that notion wrong, as films like Casino Royale and <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/escape-to-the-movies/6498-Skyfall>Skyfall explore Bond's origins while reimaging the MI6 characters introduced alongside Sean Connery. Now the latest 007 film will focus on the biggest Bond villains of all: SPECTRE, the international cabal which set the standard for evil spy organizations. After <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/139814-James-Bond-Spectre-Behind-The-Scenes-Video-Daniel-Craig>behind the scenes glimpses, a new trailer is finally showing us what to expect, and it's an interesting twist - SPECTRE isn't hunting Bond, Bond is hunting SPECTRE.

After Bond receives a cryptic message, he immediately goes on a rogue mission to Mexico, much to the disappointment of M and the head of London's Centre for National Security. With his privileges seemingly revoked Bond turns to Q and Moneypenny for help in tracking down Madeleine Swann (played by Léa Seydoux) - the daughter of his enemy Mr. White from Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. But Swann only is only the tip of the iceberg, revealing the existence of SPECTRE and Franz Oberhauser (played by Christopher Waltz) - both of which have ties with Bond stretching back to Casino Royale.

There's still quite a bit of mystery revolving around SPECTRE and its connection to Bond, but I have to admit, I'm very excited to see where it leads. The trailer also does a fantastic job of referencing Bond film history - complete with the shadowed SPECTRE leaders and Bond disguising himself as Live and Let Die's Baron Samedi. Of course if you're not interested in Bond's rebooted villains, SPECTRE still has all the movie action you'd expect - from chases in spy cars, to explosions at Mexico's Day of the Dead, to a fist-fight in a flying helicopter.

SPECTRE will launch in North America on Nov. 6, 2015, but if you're in the UK you can catch it on Oct. 26.

Doesn't he always keep going rogue? You would have thought they would do something about it, but I guess he does get the job done and someone must be very good at polishing his paperwork. (not a euphemism). Waltz does do a very believable bad guy, if memory serves correct. If this is Craig's last, then I am obliged to see it, either way.

Captcha: too many cooks. ...yes we know, captcha. But this is a snowball effect franchise. It cannot go smaller.

Firstly: BATISTA! KICK SOME ASS DUDE!
Secondly: Will Blofeld have a fluffy cat in this one?

I've always been a huge James Bond fan, especially the Sean Connery ones, and I can honestly say that the only thing I don't like about these new ones is the odd casting of Q as being very young.

Also, I'm really excited that Christoph Waltz is played the villain.

Nobody in this comes of as Blofeld to me. But then, none of them are necessarily Blofeld. Of course, you really can't have the same kind of build up to that character anymore because it was already done in the other Bond films. Still . . . I don't know. I really want to see another Bond film that I like. It's been so long.

This has me really excited. For some reason I thought they had concluded Daniel Craig as Bond, but I'm glad they didn't. I loved all the old Bond films, but I love the serious Bond that is the Daniel Craig Bond. I can't wait.

Okay, I'm sold on this.

I really like Daniel Craig as Bond, and it looks like a really fun movie.

Can't wait to see Christopher Waltz as the villain.

Oh man, as much as I thought I'd become jaded by trailers, this got me pretty damn pumped. I wasn't honestly expecting to see the guy from the end of Casino Royale (the hobo-looking man in the trailer) anymore after the mess that was Quantum of Solace, but it's really cool to see them build a continuity out of it. As soon as I saw Christoph Waltz I was sold, he'll make a fantastic villain.

Did anyone else read "James Bond's SPECTRE Stands Revealed In New Trailer" and interpret it as the escapist saying "hey, the new James Bond movie has these things called SPECTERs that are a lot like Stands from Jojo"?

Did you guys pick up on the subtle On Her Majesty's Secret Service callback? You can hear just a bit of theme towards the middle of the trailer.

I am so excited for this movie. They're doing an amazing job of blending classic Bond with new stuff.
