Into Darkness, and Trek '09, being ok movies if consumed in a void is probably the only thing they have going for them. But the biggest problem they have is there is no void, everyone goes in aware of the fact that movies like Star Trek 2, 4 and exist even if they've never seen them, with decades of influence over pop-culture from the property they are all a part of. Given the types of movies he makes, there was just no way a good Trek movie was ever going to come from Abrams. A good movie, maybe, but not a good trek movie.

Really, "Internet trolls are unpleasable"? I am allowed to dislike a movie for reasons beyond trolling. Frankly I've learned to just nod my head and just say "mm, yes it was very good" when ever anyone brings up the nolan trilogy but them films had problems. Batman being completely out of place for one. Would've been way better as a crime series with Oldman as the main character.

Only one movie was not because of an IRL death, I am disappoint. How bout we put some work into it and pick films that hit us because they were deeper and we came to a stark realization?
