A "Super Violent" Castlevania Mini-Series Is Heading Our Way

You might know Shankar as the man behind such works as Judge Dredd: Superfiend and reboot [https://vimeo.com/120401488] that made waves across the Interwebs earlier this year. In addition to his short film projects, Shankar also served as the producer on the 2012 remake of Dredd and the Liam-Neeson-Fighting-Wolves vehicle, The Grey.

In a follow-up interview with Collider [http://collider.com/castlevania-animated-series-adi-shankar/], Shankar additionally stated that he has enlisted the independent animation studio Frederator (Fairly Oddparents, Adventure Time), who first aquired the rights a few years ago, to bring Castlevania to life. If you're wondering which entry in the saga will serve as the main influence to the story, Shankar also confirmed that it will be Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse.

So prepare yourselves, Escapees (is that what you call yourselves?), because this is gonna be epic.

If your selling point is "Super Violent" then you've already lost. Violence gets old really really quickly. I mean Super Violent Vampire Anime. Look Uhm. that's cute and all but Really, we already have Hellsing, Vampire Hunter D and about 500 others I mesnan Anime is a medium where super violence is the norm... If you haven't seen someone punched through a mountain it's considered a slap fight.

Even when things try to be realistic you get thenings like grappler Baki and Samurai Champloo.

COOL Castlevania mini---...err wait anime? Dammit! Ah well, guess I'll just rewatch Dracula Untold (unofficial Castlevania: Lords of Shadow flick, complete with nearly identical post-ending ending) until an actual live-action adaptation is made.

Déjà vu. Didn't they announce a mature Dracula's Curse animated movie back in 2006/7 that never released? Hopefully this one makes more progress...

Super sexy still, right? Like it's always been? Super sexy, super violent, satirical, dark (so we cannot possibly see the super sexy super violence) ..Anime? Uh-oh! We have laws in the UK forbidding us to view those.
I liked Castlevania better when it was a game. Not the gambling one. Been meaning to try lords of shadow 2, at least for Patrick Stewart monologuing me to sleep.
Shall not judge too harshly before viewing. But there is still a big, fat ole' sticky Konami stuck to the cover art.

You mean this is the producer behind that horrible power rangers reboot trailer? Yeah, no. He can fuck off. Last thing I need is Castlevania (or Power Rangers for that matter) to be gritty. They tried that already with Lords of Shadow. That fucking sucked.

I'm pretty sure super violent is the baseline for this series given that any particular enemy will spout blood (even then they theoretically do not have any blood) or explode violently into flames when lightly brushed against.
