Wow...just looking at the pics in that gallery makes it seem as though the casting director said "Hey, lets fill this movie with the douchiest looking douchebags we can find!"

EDM is vague and broad a genre. But the trailer had that glitch-hop dubsteppy sound that makes festivals and clubs quite fantastic. Perhaps I can look past the dubious actors and director for some reminiscing of party moments :)

I honestly think it's kind of sad Zac Efron hasn't really taken off yet. I thought he was phenomenal in "Neighbors".

Plus, I liked him in That Awkward Moment alongside Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan... It's too bad it's really taking Zac a while to reach even close to his acting apex of sorts...

OT: First off, not all coming-of-age stories revolve around teens/young adults... because of movies like Beginners, for example... :p
Second off, I remember seeing the Catfish movie when it came out... The best part about it turned out to be the "real" person behind the catfish itself, "ironically"...
Third off, you're not missing much from not seeing the Catfish TV series... unless you're hoping for more moments like in the movie version and/or others like than from an emotional standpoint, I guess...
Finally, this does sound like a reverse Whiplash where you watch Whiplash for the story and the music adds to that effectively and you watch We Are Your Friends for the music and the story adds to that, I guess...

Other than that, I'll end up watching this the same way I saw Project X, which was at home on HBO(?) and mostly "watching" it for the soundtrack...

Huh, 3 stars for something described as boring and predictable, with poor acting and terrible music (even if you like the genre dance music is, oddly enough, something people generally like dancing to, not sitting down to watch on TV). Either there's something good about it the review forgot to mention, or all those films getting 1 star must be even worse than I'd thought.

Same here, he was awesome in 17 again.
