The "With Bob and David" Teaser Trailer Promises Lots of Poop Humor
It may be short, but the teaser for Bob Odenkirk and David Cross' upcoming Netflix series sure is shitty sweet.
It's pretty much a universal fact that Mr. Show is the greatest, most underrated sketch comedy show of all time, and I will engage in fisticufs wth anyone who says otherwise. In just 4 seasons, Bob Odenkirk, David Cross, & Co. delivered more classic skits than most sketch shows can hope to achieve in a lifetime. "The Story of Everest," "24 Is the Highest Number," "'Taint," SPITE MARRIAGE. You guys, Spite Marriage. Watch it this instant [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_IYrltqYrU], and also all those other ones I just listed.
My personal fanboyism aside, it would be hard not to deny that, with Key & Peele closing up shop [http://www.thewrap.com/key-peele-to-end-its-comedy-central-run-after-this-season-exclusive/] after this season, the comedy world could use another great sketch series (other than Inside Amy Schumer, which is excellent). Odenkirk has been on something of a roll lately, with Better Call Saul's first season over on AMC receiving praise almost across the board, and David Cross has...whatever he's been up to. But beyond Odenkirk and Cross, Mr. Show has helped launch the careers of Sarah Silverman, Paul F. Tompkins, Jack Black, Tom Kenny, Brian Posehn, and Scott Aukerman among others, and it appears that many of them will be making guest appearances on With Bob and David. In other words: My money, take it already.
While they may still be losing out in the streaming movie market [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/142447-Netflix-Ends-Partnership-With-Epix], Netflix is hitting it out of the park with original shows like With Bob and David, which received its first teaser trailer, premiere date (November 14th), and an official synopsis earlier today:
Bob Odenkirk and David Cross are back for more inspired and absurd sketch comedy in W/ BOB & DAVID, the new Netflix original series, premiering Friday, November 13. In the series, Bob and David reunite - along with Paul F. Tompkins, Jill Talley, Jay Johnston, John Ennis, Brian Posehn and more - in four all-new 30-minute episodes.
Great, now if every sketch can be as incredible as "The Devastator," we'll have a bonafide hit on our hands.
