Arkham Knight's PC Re-Release Has Been Pushed Back Again

Batman: Arkham Knight's PC re-release is now slated for "late October".

I just don't know what to tell you guys any more. Warner Bros. has just posted another update to its back in early September [http://steamcommunity.com/games/208650/announcements/detail/126456258427632890], it is now telling us that it probably won't be back in stores until the end of this month.

"As many of you know, we released a major patch for Batman: Arkham Knight PC a few weeks ago. While there were significant performance improvements made to the game, the teams are continuing to work on the additional updates that were outlined in our previous post [http://steamcommunity.com/games/208650/announcements/detail/145594019968443309]," wrote the studio.

"We expect these updates to be ready at the end of October, at which time the PC version will be made available for purchase. In addition, support for all DLC that has been released for the console versions will be in place."

So, there you go. You may be able to finally buy Arkham Knight on PC by the end of this month (maybe), a full four months after its initial, half-assed release [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/141347-Batman-Arkham-Knight-Removed-From-Steam-Store]. All I can say is it better be on sale for at least 50% off when it comes back up...

Good. Delay it to kingdom come, but release a competent game. A rushed game is never good.

I wish the delay meant that they are re-burning all the discs so the inevitable 30gb patch is already implemented in to the game.

People still buy PC games on disks?

Yeah. If you are stuck on a 2.7 mbps connection like I am you need to avoid as much time wasted downloading as possible.

OT: They have all of the time they need and yet they still delay it. This PC port must have been a real mess.

I buy the game where it is cheapest. Quite often the game is cheaper at release on Amazon than on Steam.

Plus I get a digital copy anyway when it is activated. So I'm getting a cheaper price and a digital copy.

And for us poor assholes who already bought the game, we are left with an unplayalbe mess of a game

Maybe we should re-review this thing when they finally get it out the door.

Thoughts?

An update, of sorts, should work just fine...

OT: So... Halloween, then? That is the "end of October", right WB?

All I can say, I am absolutely with you Steven, releasing it at a 50% discount would be a good start to earning back PC gamers respect, are they going to do it? Probably not because it's Warner Bros. and fuck fans and customers, especially if they dare to play on PC

I agree. You could also simply append an addendum to the initial review, discussing which improvements have been implemented.

You'd have to focus on PC performance. Which means you should review it using one system that meets only the minimum system requirements and one that meets the recommended specs. So at least two review systems. Otherwise there's no point because that's exactly what other PC gaming websites will do and probably in greater detail.

You know that expression "better late than shitty"? It's true.
True, but I'd also say "better on time than late."

Although, I don't really care about this game one way or another. The fact that it hasn't been fixed yet is news to me; I fully assumed that it was fixed long ago.

I feel like I should win something for completing my copy on Steam, maybe a fully functional batwing or an Xbox One with Arkham Knight and a season pass so I can see how it was meant to play.
