Watch: Star Wars Battlefront Reimagined as an SNES Title

It's no secret that Star Wars: Battlefront is one of the most sought after games of this year. Nielsen's annual Game Critics Awards for E3 2015 [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/7.883238-Call-of-Duty-Black-Ops-III-is-the-Most-Anticipated-Multi-Platform-Holiday-2015-Game] named it the Best Online Multiplayer and Best Action Game.

But now, a new video demonstrates what the game might have looked like if it had launched on the Super Nintendo.

YouTube channel Curse Entertainment [https://www.youtube.com/user/curseentertainment/about] has uploaded a video that shows Star Wars Battlefront reimagined as a 16 bit game. The clip recreates a survival mission on Tatooine, as well as a fun combination of other scenes we've seen from the game's trailers. It's a fun side-scrolling take on the upcoming title, and they even tossed a "Super" in front of the title for good measure.

Star Wars Battlefront (the real one) will launch on November 17. The beta, however, will be open to all on PS4, Xbox One, and PC starting at 1PM ET today [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/142562-Star-Wars-Battlefront-Beta-Announced].

Care to elaborate? Because I've been playing the beta for a few hours and there's nothing wrong with it.

Holy crap that looks amazing.

I wish we were actually getting that alongside Battlefront like how we got Codename Gordon (Half-Life 2D) back around '04.

Care to elaborate? Because I've been playing the beta for a few hours and there's nothing wrong with it.

Because of all the cut content from Battlefront 2. The guns have nothing distinguishing them apart from fractional differences in damage or fire rate and it's generally just a generic Battlefield shooter with a Star Wars coat of... well it's not even paint it's just gloss, a clear lacquer that does nothing to disguise the worn and rusted machine beneath.

It's very nearly as linear as the real thing, well done.

Honestly, I'd love another super star wars type game. those were great.
