PC Specs for Dark Souls III Have Not Been Released Yet

//cdn.themis-media.com/media/global/images/library/deriv/1021/1021667.pngPublisher accidentally posted inaccurate PC specs to game's new Steam page.

Namco Bandai recently spread some incorrect information about the upcoming PC release of Dark Souls III when launching the game's store page on Steam [http://store.steampowered.com/app/374320/]. When the page went live, it featured a list of PC specifications which the company has since removed and claimed to be inaccurate.

The publisher corrected the error in a post to the game's official Facebook community [https://www.facebook.com/darksouls/posts/992564647483246], which reads as follows:

"Attention Dark Souls PC Fans!

"While launching the Dark Souls III Steam page, some PC requirements were posted by mistake. These are not representative of the game's final specifications. We look forward to sharing those PC details in the coming months - But for now, you can add Dark Souls III to your wishlists!"

It wasn't removed quickly enough for eagle-eyed fans, however, and some sites have been reporting the specifications as legitimate. If you've been waiting to find out if your computer will be able to run Dark Souls III before ordering a copy, keep waiting.

Dark Souls III is scheduled to release April 12 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Huh, interesting. I saw those apparently fake specifications on Destructoid a little while ago, listing a GTX 460 as the minimum, which did seem very high compared to the previous games. I hope the actual requirements will be a bit lower. I still have hopes my laptop will be able to run this game!

I mean, I know they were removed for being incorrect, but why would you not include the requirements in the article. Odds are they're at least ballpark. Now all this amounts to is "there was some text on the store page. Now there isn't." Great article.

I was under the impression (I think it mentioned it in the Dtoid article) that besides RAM and storage upgrades, the other recommended and minimum specs were the same as DS2. That being said, I'm not sure if SotFS had higher recommended specs or not, or whether I just imagined this whole scenario...

Googling the DS2 minimum specs, I get a NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT, far more humble than a GTX 460.

In any case, I would be very happy if the hardware demands were near DS2, cause that, including the SotFS version, ran just fine on my laptop. I was a little worried that DS 3 would be far more demanding, since it's being developed for the new consoles.

When I saw the headline I wondered if this was fairly typical for an upcoming release - every day you can do an article on all the games that haven't released PC specs yet.
