I still don't get Rocket League, like fuck.
Haha this is exactly what I was coming to say, I just don't get what is so big about Rocket League, when we did our review on it we all were bored to tears and uninstalled it once the review was up. It just doesn't hold any lasting appeal for any of us in Grindstone/MMOGrinder. I just can't see this game last past a few more months.

Nothing for Assassin's Creed: Syndicate?
Well I didn't see a "safest game of the hear" award.

I'm pretty happy with the nominations, even Battlefront considering that game is a visual and sound masterpiece even if the gameplay is dull.

Syndicate had a pretty good soundtrack, it could have gotten something for that.

Best Technology - Fallout4

They're joking, right?

Xenoblade Chronicles X. World is 5 times bigger, with online play elements, far more locations are enemy packed. 35 hours in never crashed once. Plays gorgeously smooth on the WiiU.

Fallout 4 (PC)? Pffh....

'Best technology' ... Getting Xenoblade Chronicles X to work as it does on the WiiU should be considered the benchmark.

Well nominee doesn't mean winner and I hope MGSV wins nothing because fuck Konami and MGSV isn?t that good either.

Fallout 4 for best technology must be a joke. It has to be, the engine is a mess.
And why do they list games anyway, shouldn?t they list engines?
E.g. Star Wars Battlefront is a joke as game but Frostbite 3 is one impressive engine.

My picks out of the selection would be:

Game of the Year: The Witcher 3
Innovation Award: - (pass) ? (not enough xp with titles)
Best Debut: Moon Studios
Best Design: Bloodborne
Best Handheld/Mobile Game: - (pass) ? (not enough xp with titles)
Best Visual Art: Ori and the Blind Forest
Best Narrative: Life is Strange
Best Audio: Star Wars Battlefront
Best Technology: Star Wars Battlefront

I'd honestly pick Hearts of Stone for best narrative. I liked the Witcher 3's story, but I think the high point of it came with the Bloody Baron quest line. The third act, while interesting, felt kind of rushed. Hearts of Stone on the other hand had one of the most satisfying stories I've ever experienced in a video game. Olgierd was entertaining, yet flawed in a similar manner to how the Baron was, but his backstory is even more interesting. The main villain.... one of the best I've seen. Mysterious, powerful, and dangerously charismatic.

As for the others in that category, I have yet to play Life is Strange, but I don't feel the others were as good as Hearts of Stone. The Beginner's Guide probably comes the closest for me, even though it mostly made me depressed.

I know it's already been said, but I can't help it. Fallout 4 for best technology? That kills any legitimacy the GDCA had to me. Don't get me wrong. I've got sixty hours in Fallout 4 and still going strong. It's a fun game. But best technology? I just don't have the words to express how... how... I don't have the words.
