Bayonetta and Corrin Are Smash Bros' Final DLC, Arrive February 3rd

Platinum Games's Bayonetta, and Corrin from the upcoming Fire Emblem: Fates, are the final characters to join the Super Smash Bros. roster, arriving early in February.

Challengers approaching! As previously reported, at least for this generation [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/165500-Bayonetta-Coming-to-Super-Smash-Bros].

Each arrive February 3rd. Bayonetta will set you back 6.99 for both versions of the game and includes her battlefield, the Umbral Tower, while the Fire Emblem star costs a dollar less.

Like Robin, you'll be able to change Corrin's gender through costume changes, as he or she is customizable in their own game. The angel-slaying witch queen, for her part, will by rocking her original 2010 'do or 2014's shorn look, as to your preference.

Both characters are joining the Smash partly to raise awareness for their own franchises - Fates is landing on February 19th, stateside, and Platinum Games' Wii U exclusive Bayonetta 2 is getting its own re-release the same day.

Nintendo insists that Bayonetta was the "overall number one choice worldwide," and I guess I can't complain. Just... maybe we'll get Geno next time? Sakurai? Ok?

I don't suppose they'll have a bundle with all the DLC together once this is out.

Sigh.

Still, glad to see Bayonetta got in. :p

Well, they do have the first set of character DLC bundled together... So, maybe they'd be part of the second character DLC bundle?

Other than that, for me, this just adds more to my #FebruaryHype!

From what I understand, the main issue with Geno is that Nintendo doesn't have the rights to use him, with the character being owned by Square Enix. Still, they did manage to get Cloud, so maybe next time?

I'm still surprised Nintendo had the balls to include Bayonetta in Smash, given her M-rated source that is brimming with bloody and gory violence, swearing, and the overt seductive lewdness of the characters.

Nintendo isn't known for its boldness with controversial material; all the more impressive they weren't afraid to bring in a character even more out of place than Solid Snake.

Perhaps next game, Shantae. Perhaps next game...

Still, it's pretty impressive what they managed to pull off. Cloud alone was an upset the likes of which not seen since Sonic and Snake's inclusions in Brawl,, and Bayonetta was pretty gutsy as well.

And thus Corrin keeps up the proud FE tradition of characters debuting in Smash. With the game now hitting 58 fighters, it makes me wonder how a followup could possibly top it.

...Well maybe next time we'll get Travis Touchdown.
Maybe they'll cut Charizard, Greninja, Falco, Dark Pit, Dr. Mario, Lucina, and Shulk, and put in Ridley, Dark Samus, and Henry Hatsworth.

Pretty happy about this, though I maintain that Nintendo should have had Corrin come out before and the last DLC should have been Cloud and Beyonetta, I feel like that would be a more fitting finale.

They have a pack with all of the characters, releasing at the same time as Bayonetta and Corrin. They also have a pack containing all of the stages that don't come with a character. I'm guessing there's yet another pack for all the Mii stuff but I honestly don't care about it so I didn't scroll down far enough the Nintendo Product Page to find out.

"Corrin wants to smash" and "Bayonetta gets wicked". Is it just me or is that some poor phrasing on nintendo's part?

Bayonetta seems to have a weak move set in the video. None the less, I'll be getting her, and Corrin both just to be sure.
