Pufft, guns.

Use your fists or a sword bigger than your torso. You know, *real* weapons.

-90 HP = not even a scratch

Gotta love the JRPGs where you have hundreds of HP at level 2.

That is about the only thing in FFVII that I remember to this day, the 1st fight. Couple of guards with flak jackets, helmets and automatic rifles, and there's me, some spiky haired twat with a sword. "Well, I'm boned...oh, and they get to go first..." *plink, 1 damage, plink, 1 damage*. "...uh..ok, my turn I guess" *swipe* VICTORY!!!. "What in the...". That game was really not my thing.

That, and you burst some magical flames/lightning from your hands.
Except when you're *really* pro, 'cause then you just summon a dragon god the size of two planets to atomize the area your enemies are standing in (and the area 20 square miles around that as well)...

After all, the true badass needs all that time saved not fighting themselves/cleaning guns for maintaining those sweet foot high hairspikes!!! :O

You're in a JRPG, don't you know that guns are useless in JRPGs?
Unless it's actually attached to your body or incorporated into another weapon for no practical reason. Then they become far more effective for some reason :p

Really should have gotten the shotgun... It has better debuffs like the potential to stun the opponent for [1] turn(s) and shit...

Other than that, it's a good think Rad leveled up or else that would have hurt... slightly more, I guess?

Plus, he's a Wizard, so you know he's got squat for defense. They'd be lucky get 5 per hit with Erin or Gunny.

Don't get cocky yet though, that damage adds up and you haven't found the obligatory White Mage NPC yet.

Robots! Don't forget robots! As soon as a gun is mounted in a bi- or quadpedal brightly colored mech it also becomes the destroyer of worlds.

What a weak summon, real summon use Final Flash to send you on a trip to an other galaxy with so much energy that the black holes maintaining it together explode and send you back on a return trip.

Stuffed animals and other children's toys, beachballs, umbrellas, and, uh, horse wieners are also acceptable weapons.

Ah, so this is one of the notoriously long FF8 summons I've heard about.

*snip*
-30 hp

I just love how some of those attacks that destroy planets are often less lethal than walking up to someone and punching them
