The boss is on vacation, and completely incommunicado, for a whole week. What do you do?

I would do all the work I'm usually expected to do on the first day. Then coast till Monday.

I'm self-employed, so I guess that's me, woohoo! Sorry, didn't mean to weasel out of the question. ... Based on my past job experiences, it sounds like this is exactly when everything will go instantly crazy, so I prepare myself for a week of besetting difficulties.

Catching up on all my TV on DVD at the office. Perhaps feigning some
typing every once in a while. Wouldn't want my coworkers to get suspicious.
Jim Rossignol, "World, Interrupted"
Given that I'm a freelancer writer I am technically my own boss. ... So I guess I would sit down to enjoy my holiday!

Work like the diligent drone I am, for my performance is readily available for review on the internet. I also cuss more in the office. And kick the extremism in my opinions up a few notches.
