Watch: The Dark Souls 3 Launch Trailer

Praise the Sun!

Dark Souls 3 released in the US today for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and Bandai Namco has shared the launch trailer. It's different from the one that Japanese gamers got last month [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/166969-Watch-the-Dark-Souls-3-Japanese-Launch-Trailer#&gid=gallery_6059&pid=1], with Hozier's "In The Woods Somewhere" setting the mood. The video description warns that it may contain some spoilers, so I'm going to refrain from elaborating too much. Consider yourselves warned!


Series creator Hidetaka Miyazaki previously stated that this is the game that will wrap up the Souls series, but if you're not ready to give up just yet, it was recently announced that a board game based on the popular franchise is making its way to Kickstarter this month [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/167133-Dark-Souls-Official-Board-Game-Coming-to-Kickstarter-Later-in-April].

Only 75%? I don't think you're giving that ring that you can only find if you fall through a hole at precisely the right angle and then find the hidden door on the invisible platform enough credit.
I am curious to see what, exactly, "All will be revealed" means. Are we getting all of our questions answered? What happened to so-and-so, why is this the way it is, and is The Fair Lady okay? Or does it just mean, "Cycle is fixed/broken/changed, and here's why"?

Anyway, I have to wait until Thursday because I want the Collector's edition. The wait is going to kill me.

That got me even more hyped then before. The collector's edition can't come fast enough. Much better then the last trailer. THIS is a Miyazaki game.

As someone who's not really played dark souls, this is the best trailer I've seen in a while.

Yeah that's never going to happen.
