You Can Now Preload the DOOM Open Beta

The open beta for DOOM kicks off this weekend, and now is the time to prep. You can now pre-load the beta on all three platforms, which means you'll be ready to jump in and mix it up as soon as the beta begins on Friday.

The open beta will include two maps and two game modes. You'll have access to seven of the game's weapons, as well as one playable demon. id has also said that there will be new armor sets, new taunts, and new hack modules to try out.

Beta servers will open up at 12:00 AM ET on Friday April 15, and remain open until 11:59 PM ET on Sunday, April 17. If you need more info, you can find it over on the official DOOM site [http://doom.com/en-gb/beta].

Also worth mentioning is that if you played the Closed Beta and haven't uninstalled it after it closed, the game will get a update to patch it for the open beta. So no need to install it twice if you want a second go at it.

weird indeed. also that steam didnt show it either. not even on the doom store page. but looks like some guys could play it since it already shows reviews. more hilarious is that it only shows negative reviews, despite the "mixed" rating. im just disappointed that its only MP. i want the campaign. i dont care about the MP. but well, ill give it a try and see how it generally runs.

players aint so mad about the game, the reviews are mostly because of the DLC plans, selling maps and weapons, no mod support, expensive season pass (I saw $40 price being named)... some gameplay choices were not popular like the 2 gun limit in the MP (not sure about the campaign) ... didn't ID/Beth learn from Gearboxes crappy Duke about the love players have for arbitrary weapon limits ? Sad.

It looks like a mess to me, so I will wait for solid reviews, or just watch a lets play or two to decide if the game is for me, its a pity as I had insta bought all the Doom titles before, and most ID stuff... still there is hope.
