Elsa Cosplayer Deadlifts Disease in Incredible Charity Effort

Training to build a snowman is a lot harder than you'd expect.

Cosplayers are already awesome. The sort of dedication it takes to assemble a really amazing costume is staggering, and I wish I even had the crafting talent to try. I don't, so I like to live vicariously through other cosplayers. This Elsa is the vicarious living that makes you feel really good about yourself.

The charity link in the description is broken, so here's a working one. [http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/brian-scott-8/relentless2016]

An Elsa cosplayer may not be able to cure terminal childhood illness, but it's very clear she can bring them some joy, and inspire the rest of us to offer some support.

For such a fun story, this one's really... heavy. (Author's Note: I make no apologies.)

Maybe the costume is hiding her physique, but she doesn't look like she has the build to do 405 lbs, that's very nearly the female world record for deadlifting.

Here's a picture from the fundraiser page that might be a bit more explanatory on that end: http://www.firstgiving.com/imaging/eventgivinggroup/21e74177-9642-4ace-b980-02e41b0176ae.jpg

Gah! It's not quite the clip (I wanted Glen Quagmire when he said it on Family Guy) I want but make it work people!

That is badass. Except for my incredibly tasteless joke towards a woman who is doing such a great thing for charity, there's not much else I can say except that.

She is one sexy strong woman. I feel the need to say... because it is loosely connected to cosplay it's on here, though on a normal day the site doesn't give a shit about a woman who can deadlift 405lbs. It's not even really cosplay, it's a charity lifting event that the proceeds go to children and she just dressed as Elsa for fun.

Ok, my rant is done. I take it all back... kinda.

That's really impressive! Good on her.

She's the type of strong and confident woman I think of when I imagine how Wonder Woman should look. She could man-handle my 6'3" 210lb frame without breaking a sweat.

Wish I could see the weights on the bar. Even with the muscle pic showing how big her arms are she doesn't seem to be as big as the women who near that record. It looks like only six 45lb weights but I'm guessing it's eight of them with a 45lb bar. Is that correct?

It's probably just because her legs are hidden. Those and hand strength are really what is needed for deadlifting.

Also, to be fair, the female record for deadlifting is apparently around 650 lbs, by Becca Swanson. So 405 is certainly impressive, but its not a record. Or anywhere near the male records which appear to all be over 1000 lbs.

Yeah, 405 lbs is nowhere near the female world record, but the fact that she does that with her build is impressive. Most of the women who do those levels of weight are themselves close to 200 lbs, and I doubt she weighs over 140-150.

Idk what you guys are talking about, she looks big enough to lift that. She is pretty thick, probably close to 170-180 lbs. You guys need to get to the gym more often.

I'm impressed, though I don't think I could lift that much... anyway, it always does my heart good to see cosplayers helping others. Makes me think I could do more myself...
