Uncharted 4 is the fastest selling first-party title ever for the PS4.

Sony Computer Entertainment and Naughty Dog have announced Uncharted 4: A Thief's End has sold over 2.7 million copies globally during its first week - making it the fastest selling first-party title for the PlayStation 4 to date.

The data was compiled from both Blu-ray Disc sell-thru quantities and digital sales as of May 16, 2016.

"A huge congratulations goes out to Naughty Dog for an incredible feat. The success of the game is a testament to the caliber of the team at Naughty Dog and their unwavering commitment to their fans," reads a post on PlayStation's blog [http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/05/23/uncharted-4-first-week-sales-surpass-2-7-million/]. "Most of all, we wanted to give a special thank you to all of you who joined us so far on this incredible adventure, and have embarked with us on Nathan Drake's final, wild ride."

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End launched on March 10 on PlayStation 4. Here at The Escapist, Uncharted 4 received a 5-star rating [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/video-games/editorials/reviews/17053-Uncharted-4-Review#&gid=gallery_6237&pid=1]. From the review: " If Uncharted 4: A Thief's End was the only PlayStation 4 exclusive ever, I would purchase the system all over again in a heartbeat. I could not recommend a game more sincerely than I do this one."

So... uncharted 5 has started production then I take it.
Came here to say this. Alternatively, production on "The Last of Us 2" has probably increased tenfold with this news.

Considering the ending... I doubt it. Unless Sony is shipping it off to another studio.

This is probably more likely, though I hope Naughty Dog gets to test their mettle on a new IP. Preferably one that's outside of the third-person shooter genre, or atleast something sci-fi or fantasy inspired. As beautiful as their art design is, it'd be nice to see something different from the usual contemporary environments.

OT: Looks like they'll be making that money back, as I'm sure this game must've cost a billion dollars.

Well, this isn't surprising at all. One of the highest praised studios releasing the most wanted exclusive for the console with the most market share.

But just like Johnny, I still need to finish the last 90% of Uncharted 3 and buy a PS4. (I also need to find the enthusiasm to do either.)

This. 1000 times this. ND has some great artists in their ranks. It would be nice if their reigns were let go for something not set on a world similar to our own. [small]Still waiting for the minuscule chance of a Jak 4/reboot of J&D as well, and that's coming from a guy who still likes the kid friendly original the best.[/small]
