Fan-favorite Maya Fey Returns in Ace Attorney 6

Maya, Wright's old "right-hand woman", will make her return in the latest Ace Attorney game.

Ace Attorney [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/tag/view/ace%20attorney] fans were in for a treat with Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice's latest trailer: the reveal that fan-favorite character Maya Fey will finally be making her return. The trailer shows us that while Wright is off fighting legal battles in Khura'in, he is reunited with his old sidekick.

The last time we saw Maya was in a cameo in Ace Attorney spin-off: Miles Edgeworth Investigations, but the last time she actually featured in a game was all the way back in Ace Attorney 3.

The trailer also revealed that Athena Cykes, who made her debut in the previous installment, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/video-games/editorials/reviews/10680-Phoenix-Wright-Ace-Attorney-Dual-Destinies-Review#&gid=gallery_1836&pid=1], will be returning. She will be lending Wright's understudy, Apollo Justice, a hand back at the Wright Anything agency.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice will release September 2016 in North America and Europe on the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo 3DS.

Oooooh, how I love this game series! One can only dream of a fully voiced game like in the trailer. Everyone is very fitting for the characters except Maya. She should sound a little more cheery/childish. Anyway, I'll buy this as soon as it's available.

I'll be honest, overall AA6 looks far less interesting than the game we're never going to get. Probably better than Dual Destinies though.

Do you mean Gyakuten Kenji 2 or Dai Gyakuten Saiban?

Having played all of them...

GK2 is still the king of the franchise. I like GS6 as a standalone game more than DGS as a standalone game, but DGS is an amazing first entry in a series (which I hope actually comes to fruition) whereas GS6 makes me incredibly scared for the future of the franchise. And yes, all three were better than Dual Destinies.

I also don't really get why they fill the trailers with voiced lines, considering the actual game has barely any...

After Dual Destinies, I'm honestly more interested in what the B-team are doing than with whatever Phoenix and Maya are up to. The problem with Phoenix is he tended to fall into the same schtick with all of his assistants (probably in an attempt to imitate the original chemistry with Maya I guess), but the relationship between Apollo and Athena felt like a fresh dynamic. Specifically, I want cases where you play as Athena with Apollo helping you like at the lawyer school case in DD, because he's so underrated as a snarky support character.

Speaking of fan favs, Is Larry dead? He wasn't in either Apollo or Dual Destinies... Actually, that'd probably make for a good case... And Gumshoe was the Killer!

Also, this isn't really news, she's been revealed quite a while ago. =p And I'm just going to make a wild guess here and say that she will end up being a defendant.

Nope, last time we saw her was in Project X Zone 2, also, apparently her name is Mayoi, not Maya, a Japanese name, for the Japanese priestess with a freaking magatama necklace. Whoda thunk it.


I never played these games but I didn't expect their localization to be this degree of 4kids americanization x.X. Mayoi was pretty funny in PxZ2 which made me wana check em out but if they're this unrecognizable I may have to import lol.

It was fine in the first game, it's not really noticable, but in the later games well...
