GameStop Giving Out Legendary Pokemon Volcanion Today Through Halloween

Nintendo and The Pokemon Company have been giving away legendary Pokemon in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the game. This month, they're giving away Keldeo, a legendary that was previously only available to those who purchased Pokemon Black 2 or White 2 within a month of release. You can get it now through October 24 by just going online and using the "Receive Gift" option.

But there's a second legendary available this month: Volcanion. This is the first time that it's been available outside of Japan. It's a unique Pokemon, because it's both Fire and Water type. When you download Volcanion, it will have the Flamethrower, Hydro Pump, Explosion, and Steam Eruption moves. Additionally, it will have the Water Absorb ability, which means that Water-type attacks will heal it instead of causing damage. It will also be equipped with an Assault Vest, an item that boosts Special Defense but prevents the wearer from using any non-damaging moves.

All you need to do to get your Volcanion is head to the nearest GameStop and ask for it. Once you have the code, you just need to enter the code into the game using the "Get With Code" option. Volcanion is only available until October 31.

Soon...soon I will truly have caught them all.

Though the last of this years event Pok?mon doesnt get released until December, after Sun and Moon, so I will have to get all those Pok?mon too before Ive truly "Caught them all"...until that gen's event legendaries come out, but then its just a matter of staying up to date. I may have started that goal as a little kid in the early 90's, but after feeling like I never would accomplish it, Ive finally have a life goal within completing grasp!

And shut up, its important to me!

i feel your pain. i was on the forefront of Red/Blue and attained all 150 in both. then i never thought about pokemon again. until 3 3 months ago when my friend upgraded his 3ds and gave me his old one. it started with virtual console red+blue, then i thought i'd check out a new one, so i bought Y, good fun. but i was told ORAS was better... so i bought them. both of them. then, collection fever hit...

i got the PokeBank app, and have in there an organized pokedex with over 400 in their proper numerical place... but i missed so many Mythics this year (FYI OP, they've been giving out Mythics, not Legendaries. the difference is minor, but within the community, the distinction matters. essentially, mythics can never be caught in game, have to be obtained elsewhere.)

then, i went to the local game store, and found black and white for sale, bought them hoping for a good haul on the backlog, was not disappointed. i'm years late to the party, but over 400 with many evolutions lined up to fill out more. then i need to buy X. but with S&M around the corner... when would i have the time?! THIS GAME IS KILLING ME!

I got my Pokebank filled, in order with my living Pokedex. Just been filling those mythic holes. Now I look for other things to collect. I got a full collection of Unown, I got al but one Vivillon pattern, and Im working on getting all hidden abilities.

When the bank came out, I went through all the old games collecting everything, even bought an old DS with the Advanced port so I can transfer my pokemon all the way from Gen 3.

Though now they have the Gen 1 games you can transfer to Sun and Moon from. I hope they add Gold/Silver/Crystal too at some point. I have been refining my collection to make it nicer. Such as having every pokemon be caught from their first gen game. Originally I had the Gen 1 and 2 from the Gen 3 games, but I have been working on switching them with the ones from R/B/Y. I will do the same for G/S/C if I can.

a give away to celebrate the 20 anniversary. well that sounds real nice, nintendo. good job. you know, i couldve sworn there was another game celebrating 20 years too... started with an M or something? all about exploration and fighting space pirates? and you playing a girl in a robot suit...
