I would love to be able mod and try and fix stuff like this. I feel like most of the assets and stuff is there, so it would be more about fixing the issues rather than adding content. I imagine that this would be a nice bit of practice for people familar with modding.

No, there is still a ton of developer placeholder there. And no 3D Skybox anywhere. Still, I feel the lion's share of work is done.

and ported it in to Left 4 Dead 2 because who on gods green earth is still playing L4D1 when all the campaigns for it have already been converted to L4D2.

I do - because all the added and changed bullshit of the sequel. I have exactly TWO things I can name that the sequel does better: Total ammo for shotguns and that you refill from ammo piles now includes the missing ammo from the magazine and not just the spare ammo.
Everything else? Worse. No exception.
