Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered Adding Six New Maps and Two New Modes Next Week

//cdn.themis-media.com/media/global/images/library/deriv/1366/1366543.jpgNew multiplayer maps and modes are headed to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered next week.

If you picked up the Legacy, Legacy Pro, or Digital Deluxe Editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, you've probably spent some time playing Modern Warfare Remastered. If you're looking for an excuse to dive back into the game, Infinity Ward has you covered.

Next week, on Tuesday, December 13, the developer will roll out six new multiplayer maps and two additional game mods for free. This update will bring the total number of maps in the remaster to 16, and will include these six maps:

Bloc
Countdown
Showdown
Strike
Pipeline
Wet Work

As a bonus, Infinity Ward is also including another map, named Winter Crash. It's a Christmas-themed map that will be featured in "24/7 Winter Crash" playlists that will kick off on December 20. Also included are the Gun Game (from Black Ops) and Hardpoint (from Black Ops 2) game modes.

You can find more information on Winter Crash, and learn more about the "12 Days of Winter" celebration, in this official blog post [https://blog.activision.com/t5/Call-of-Duty/Tis-the-Season-for-Call-of-Duty/ba-p/10104079].

so they're selling DLC for a game you can only get for buying a premium addition of another game. This is DLC for day one DLC...

Is this a parody? Because this kind of feels like a parody to me.

Just buy Call of Duty 4 on Steam, install some texture mods and you have the same game but with better online play, no peer to peer connection rubbish to deal with.

Not quite, this stuff's coming out for free, assuming you have the game.

To be fair, it does sound like the kind of thing Activision would charge for.

I agree it would be a fair assumption to make. But for once Activision is being slightly less cartoonishly evil than usual, maybe the poor overall sales have spooked them into actually trying to encourage people for a change.

Normally, yes. But normally, it would be Infinity Ward that would make this game.
It's not normal, however. Raven Software is on the helm: they're usually just the support guys on the DLC maps - the only other game they're doing as primary developer is CoD Online.

Is there still a decent online community though? I wonder how many people are playing the remake instead of the original...

According to Steam, about 900 to 1000 people. That includes those just playing the singleplayer - but also only those that own the game on Steam, not from the Windows 10 Store (but I don't think that really has any playerbase at all)

Do you even think?

None of what you said applies here, I dont like what they did and I havent bought a Call of Duty since MW2 (didnt liked it as much as 4) but to say dumb stuff doesnt make sense even to me.

The remaster cant be considered a day one DLC, and this one now isnt even paid.

I know its fun to point and laught at Activision for this shit but at least get it right.

Adding the missing content for free was expected, so it's nice to see them catching up.
I want to play this and the single player for Infinite Warfare, but i don't want to have to download 130GB+ to do it, once they're seperate i'll consider it.

The same 500 or so people have been playing it every single day for the last nine years.

They're a mostly friendly bunch, except for the odd bonker Russian hacker, but they can strike anywhere at any time, so don't worry about it.
