The Humble Freedom Bundle contains almost 50 books and games, including Stardew Valley and The Witness, for just $30.

The Humble Freedom Bundle [https://www.humblebundle.com/freedom] is raising money for Doctors Without Borders, the International Rescue Committee, and civil liberties groups the ACLU - most notable for fighting against President Donald Trump's recent temporary travel ban. In just a single day, the bundle, which contains almost 50 books and games for a mere $30, raised an incredible $3.5 million for those charities.

"This special one-week bundle features over $600 in incredible games and books for just $30. 100% of your payments will go to the American Civil Liberties Union, the International Rescue Committee, and Doctors Without Borders/M?decins Sans Fronti?res (MSF). Humble Bundle will proudly match your contributions up to $300,000," wrote the organizers on its website [https://www.humblebundle.com/freedom].

"We chose these three organizations because of the inspiring work they do in providing humanitarian assistance to refugees and displaced people as well as in defense of justice, human rights, and civil rights," it continued.

The games included in the Bundle are some pretty damn good ones as well, with titles like Stardew Valley, The Witness, The Stanley Parable and Super Meat Boy leading the charge.

"We humbly remember that the United States is a nation of immigrants, and we proudly stand with developers, authors, and charities that champion liberty and justice for all."

Title is a lie.

100% of the payments will go to the American Civil Liberties Union, the International Rescue Committee, OR Doctors Without Borders. You get to choose who it goes to, default is an even split.

The ACLU I'm kind of iffy about, they do some good and some bad I think in equal amounts. The Doctors Without Borders are the fools that set up hospitals in warzones then complain when they get bombed. Haven't heard of the International Rescue Committee, what are they like?

I think DWB also does just general medical assistance in poor countries like say, clinics in Africa or whatever. The IRC seems to assist refugees of war, so similar to DWB, maybe with the addition of helping them settle and relocate.

Pretty much this. I got it and put it all into DWB since I don't know about about the IRC to give them money and I don't give money to partisan political organisation.

I wanted this bundle, but unfortunately I could not stomach being used in a press release such at this with an organization that's lost it's way like the ACLU.

What things do they do that you think are bad?

Personally I love the ACLU. I'm even happier with them when they stuck their neck out and gave support for Milo's freedom of expression despite the congregation of complainers cross that they support the expression rights of people with whom they disagree fundamentally. It feels like a return to their principled stand in Skokie.
I'm not Xan Krieger, but in my opinion, the ACLU has gone from a "We disagree with what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it" organization to a "REEEEEEEEEEEE REPUBLICANS ARE EVIL" org. Their recent lawsuits against the travel ban is an example of this. The law is VERY clear about the president's powers when it comes to entry to the country from outside, namely that he can shut it down from anywhere for ANY reason. The fact that they judge shopped until they got some under the umbrella of the 9th circus who would rule outside the realm of the law is an example of this.

That's exactly what I did as well, 100% of my donation went to doctors without boarders.
