English dubbing ranks up there with the likes of Cowboy Bebop and Fullmetal Alchemist.

That doesn't say much to me. Cowboy Bebop had amazing dubbing...to the point that I Prefer to watch it in English, but Fullmetal Alchemist isn't nearly as good. The voices don't seem to match the characters sometimes.

Then again, these dub jobs are bearable, while most others are not.

I watched the first 3 episodes very much forced. The only thing I was attracted to was the world they were in.

It was a fairly decent series -- not excessively compelling but relatively enjoyable to watch -- and I agree with most of your assessments Josh. I think the only point our views really diverge is the Escalus plotline. The nature of Escalus seemed to be fairly obvious to me much earlier in the series so I was wholly expecting the direction that the story went towards the end.
