Beyond Good & Evil 2 Won't Make it to E3, But Will Be Revealed This Year

Beyond Good & Evil 2 has been in the works since it was greenlit all the way in 2012 [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/84147-Beyond-Good-Evil-Greenlighted-for-Sequel]. Although the game is still in the works, you won't get to see it at E3 this year, either. However, you may hear more before the end of the year.

That news comes from creator Michel Ancel's Instagram [https://www.instagram.com/p/BUeSDnlgcWj/?taken-by=michelancel&hl=en], where he confirmed that the game wouldn't make an appearance at E3 next month. "Not sure that E3 would be the best place to showcase Bg&e2," he wrote. But he did offer some hope that we would hear more about the sequel in the coming months, saying, "But we're working on the game so sometime this year, you should hear about it!"

We've been waiting for more news on BG&E2 since Ubi confirmed that it was real last October [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/168603-Ubisoft-Giving-Away-Beyond-Good-Evil-Free-for-the-Next-Month], and although this isn't the full-on reveal we were hoping for, it does offer up some hope that we could see the game this year.

Haven't they been waffling back and forth about BG&E2 for years now and generally BS'd about it?

They like to hold it for hostage, basically saying if you want to prove to use Beyond good/evil 2 will work, buy our latest game and we'll take another look at it.

Been that way for years now.

I was actually pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the original game when I almost 100%ed it back in July 2013. I have held onto the hope for a sequel for a while (though not as long as others) and so am not as hesitant to be optimistic about this.

It was always an open-world collect-a-thon, but that was back when that was relatively new, along with mixing in a whole bunch of different elements and game types that are seen together pretty often these days.

What was great was the way it all came together - you bet your arse I collected every pearl and took photos of all 100 life-forms, not just out of some completionist compulsion but because finding them all was a puzzle in itself an encouraged exploration.
