But there wasn't a way to get any coins before? So, yay?

Before, for every Pokemon in a gym you had, you got 10 coins per day. Which you could claim by tapping a button in the shop screen.

Before, for every Pokemon in a gym you had, you got 10 coins per day. Which you could claim by tapping a button in the shop screen.
And you had to wait 20 hours before you could attempt to claim again, meaning if you put a Pokemon in a gym, but then waited to get a couple more in gyms and someone meanwhile defeated your first one, you got nothing for it when you claimed. Alternately, if you claimed right away, you'd get 10 coins, but then no matter how many Pokemon you put in gyms afterwards, you'd have to wait 20 hours before you could claim. That's 20 hours for your Pokemon to be defeated.

I like the new method. I got 100 coins in two days simply because my Pokemon were in gyms for about a day before being defeated and they automatically collect coins for you. You can also get a tiny amount of stardust by feeding berries to the Pokemon in a gym to keep their motivation high. You get 20 stardust for each berry.

Since the article has been updated to mention that coins are earned for every 10 minutes, shouldn't the calculation be adjusted to reflect that? 1 coin every 10 minutes means 1000 minutes for 100 coins, and that's only 16 hours and 40 minutes for 1 pokemon defender. Much more attainable than the article concludes in its current state.
