"Magic Eye" Tetris Will Give You A Headache

If you ever enjoyed unfocusing your eyes to see a magical 3D sailboat, you might enjoy doing the same to play Tetris. Or it might make your head hurt and eyes water.

As we all know, Tetris physically changes your brain [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/94371-Tetris-Physically-Changes-Your-Brain]. 3D Stereogram Tetris on the other hand, will physically damage your brain. At least, that's what it feels like right now.

You know, I was actually pretty good at the whole "Magic Eye" thing. I could almost always do it and see the image, and it never really bothered me. But trying to do it with a moving image - much less control one is an exercise in brain pain that I can't take much of.

this was the first time i had ever heard of a magic image actualy........
anyway that was pretty cool, i could see the images and i played it for a little bit, but like you said having to look around and control moving images while trying to stay de-focused, i coulden do it for very long before i lost.

One of the more entertaining kinds of Tetris. Wiped out completely at 2461, though - the magic eye thing wasn't much of a distraction, I'm just no good at Tetris.

Might be my computer screen, might be me, but I can't see it on the computer. I checked one of my old books to make sure I could still do it... I can, but not on the internet.

I've been able to adjust my eyes to see all those magic eye pictures, but I never got the technique down to the point that I could do it instantly. It always took several minutes of trial and error.

My big problem is, once I get the de-focusing of my eyes set to see it, I can't maintain it as I pan across the image. So, I look at the top to see the piece, go to look at the bottom to place it, lose the image, take a second or two to reacquire, determine the desired position and rotation, look back up, lose the image, defocus and reacquire, then rotate and drop.

A whole lot of having to reset my eyes.

I have this problem too. The moment my eyes hit an edge they refocus - perhaps something to do with my glasses and laptop screen, or perhaps just my visual-cognitive processing.
