While I've had my doubts about Multiplayer since the moment it was announced, it's fate doesn't affect my purchase of the game. Although if it's good I will be popping the disc in more often.
And look how well that worked out.DarkSaber said:System Shock 2 had a tacked-on co-op mode forced into it through a patch at the publishers insistence too.
I highly suggest you check out some of the videos of the multiplayer.Rednog said:A contender for worst multiplayer of the year comes out swinging.
I still haven't even tried it, been trying on & off for 5 years now to organize a game, it just never happens. But I've heard that I'm wasting my time because it just ruined the game.Andy Chalk said:And look how well that worked out.DarkSaber said:System Shock 2 had a tacked-on co-op mode forced into it through a patch at the publishers insistence too.
Same here. It works well as a single players, perhaps offline multiplayer, but not onlineZac_Dai said:Not sure why they bothered.
When playing Bioshock I never thought to myself "This game could really use multiplayer!".
In my opinion, game developers - in general - seem to no longer care about PC gamers.Georgeman said:Yay! Another victory for the PC gamers! Are those bastards lucky or what? /Sarcasm
With no say apparently. At least real life minorities usually have special interest groups to influence decision making.Mad World said:Game developers no longer care about PC gamers.Georgeman said:Yay! Another victory for the PC gamers! Are those bastards lucky or what? /Sarcasm
You heard Infinity Ward; we're just a minority!
Oh, they do care. They do care about selling (or actually renting) their game... when they have total control over their game in a platform where only the gamer is supposed to have total control over it. While at the same time attempting to justify it with the piracy bullshit.Mad World said:Game developers no longer care about PC gamers.Georgeman said:Yay! Another victory for the PC gamers! Yeah - so much for our beloved dedicated servers.bjj hero said:With no say apparently. At least real life minorities usually have special interest groups to influence decision making.
Looks like dedicated servers really are on the way out.
Yup.Georgeman said:Oh, they do care. They do care about selling (or actually renting) their game... when they have total control over their game in a platform where only the gamer is supposed to have total control over it. While at the same time attempting to justify it with the piracy bullshit.
Playing it? Only by the developer's permission (online craptivation) Modding? Only by the developer's permission. Extra maps? Only by extremely limited priced dlc offerings. Single player gaming without internet connection? "Tough luck there buddy. We need to protect our IP. And what better way to do so than screwing you up? What's that? How dare you say to our face that you'll pirate our holy game, filthy infidel?!"
I get kicked for being British on Xbox. I'm glad they don't have the kick option.DaxStrife said:No kick option? On X-BOX?! Are they not aware of that console's multiplayer base?
