Geomerics' "Enlighten" Technology to Debut at GDC
"Enlighten," a software package from Geomerics, is designed to enhance dynamic lighting on Xbox 360 Games.
The strength of the new software is in providing real-time "full" dynamic lighting, which means whole environments can be smoothly cast in changing light and shadows. Real-time lighting effects have traditionally been a resource-heavy portion of rendering graphics, and it's possible that Enlighten will allow for new lighting possibilities on the 360 hardware.
Geomerics will be demonstrating its technology at the Game Development Conference this year.
