STALKER Theft Rumour Unfounded
Rumors circulating earlier this month about possible theft of art assets by Stalker's developers have proven unfounded, The Inquirer [http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=38945] has reported.
Speculation was abound that basic lighting and water textures may have been stolen from Doom 3 and Half-life 2. It was fueled by visual similarities and the name of one texture, "lights_impflash.dds," resembling the name of an "imp" monster creature in Doom 3.
In reality, however, the textures are simply stock assets sold by this company [http://www.marlinstudios.com/products/products.htm] and the texture name referred to impact lighting.
