Another Big RTS to Hit Consoles?
Real-time strategy - or, at least, a cavalcade of concurrent pretty explosions - could continue finding its way onto next-gen consoles beyond C&C 3: Tiberium Wars.
In a soon to be published interview [http://computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=164476], Massive Entertainment's President, Martin Walfisz, said the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 are well-suited to action-oriented real-time strategy titles.
Perhaps not so coincidentally, Walfiz's company is developing World in Conflict, a real-time strategy title currently being prepared for the PC.
As one can easily glean from these screenshots [http://www.massive.se/Contents.asp?id=1310], explosive action is very much high on the agenda for this title.
Walfisz told CVG the game "is much more visceral and action-oriented than traditional RTS titles, so if there's ever a game that could translate well to the consoles, it would be something like World in Conflict."
Nonetheless, he did not offer concrete specifics as to when or if the title would hit consoles.
