Spielberg, EA Offer Details of Games in Development

Early details of two of the three games being developed by Steven Spielberg [http://www.ea.com]have been released.

The first title, exclusive to the Wii [http://wii.com/], is described as a block-building party game that will let players use the Wii remote in "over a hundred challenging, action-packed interactive games that take blocks to a new level of creativity and fun." The game will include both a single-player mode and co-operative and versus multiplayer modes.

The second project, a "contemporary action-packed adventure," is slated for release on the Xbox 360 [http://www.playstation.com]and PC. Touted as a more ambitious undertaking, it features an epic story focusing on the "touching and ever-changing relationship between you and a mysterious female character who holds the key to many futures."

"I am a gamer myself and game development has always intrigued me," Spielberg said. "Now I've been able to jump in and do it, enjoying the creative collaboration with the EALA [http://jobs.ea.com/eala/about.html]team on our first two games and I feel we have two incredibly unique products in development."

Electronic Arts General Manager Neil Young said, "Steven's vision as both a storyteller and a gamemaker makes partnering with him an incredible experience. Together we're making games that are unique and that we feel will each move the medium in their own way."

The two games do not yet have titles or anticipated release dates, and details regarding the third title expected from the 2005 EA-Spielberg deal were not released.
