Rumor: Dragon Age to Awaken in March

If rumors are true, details may be available for Dragon Age: Origins [http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Age-Origins-Pc/dp/B001IK1BWC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1278970552&sr=1-1]' first larger expansion pack.

The first expansion packs for BioWare's Dragon Age: Origins, Warden's Keep and the Stone Prisoner (and likely the upcoming $5 Eurogamer.cz [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/96229-BioWare-Reveals-Return-to-Ostagar-DLC-for-Dragon-Age-Origins] can be believed, information on BioWare's first big content pack for the game was leaked in an accidental early online listing.

These details are only being translated by Google [http://translate.google.com/translate?js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=1&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.eurogamer.cz%2Farticles%2Fodhaleni-datadisku-k-dragon-age&sl=cs&tl=en], but the basic premise of the expansion can still be deciphered. It's called The Awakening (or something similar) and will actually follow a new main character with a new origin story on a new campaign. It's expected to last around 15 hours, and will bring players to an as of yet unexplored region of the world.

The article mentions that The Awakening will be priced at around 2/3 the cost of the original game, which would make it $40, with a release date of March 19, 2010. Take all of this with a grain of salt, or ten, as not a single iota of official information has come out of BioWare or EA on this yet. We do know that BioWare has a two-year plan [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/90734-Dragon-Ages-Two-Year-DLC-Plan] for Dragon Age: Origins DLC, so it wouldn't be crazy to see a nice-sized content pack as early as March. An official announcement could be made in early January, which would mean very soon. Try not to get possessed by a sloth demon in the meantime.

Intresting...Looking forward to seeing some larger expansions if this is true! I like how they are keeping it active though, good support! (If this is real)

Well, all really to do now is wait for offically announcements for Bioware I suppose.

More Dragon Age?

I believe this [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pXfHLUlZf4] sums up my feelings on the subject.

Please not Orlais. Please not Orlais. Please not Orlais.

I want to save that for the main setting of the next game, not an expansion.

Wouldn't mind taking a trip up to the Tevinter Imperium though.

That's what I'm thinking.
$40 is a bucket of money, for me at least. And for an origin story and a new area?
$20 I could see...but $40? I'm skeptical.

Don't get me wrong, either, I love me some Dragon Age...but $40 is $40.

More Dragon Age? Nice.

$40 for an expansion? Well it is EA and most other expansions are priced at the point...depends if it's retail or DLC. If it's DLC, I won't pay more than $20. Retail...I'd pass on anyway.

What about the other Dwarven city? I can't remember the name of it unfortunately, but it seems as good of a place as any.

I'm hoping it's not Orlais for one reason: the terrible pseudo-French accent. It's horrible. A land where everyone speaks like that? I'd have to play with voices turned off the entire time.

Aye, but it's not exactly "new", considering it'd still be in the same territory as the old Dwarven city, more or less. Underground, darkspawn, etc.

But 40 $ seem pretty heavy, they better makes this one big, like really big. And perfect. Like Shivering Island....

Wardens Keep was a complete rip-off and barely gave me a few tiny hours of gameplay. I hope this isn't a rip-off too.

Agreed. As far the Orlesians go, Leliana's was the only believable accent in the game. She actually sounded like a French person who'd been living in England for long enough to start picking up some of the accent.
(On a slightly related note, was I the only person who found it hilarious that the dwarves had vaguely American accents, and yet used extremely English expletives like "sodding"?)

I wouldn't mind seeing either Tevinter or wherever it is the qunari come from, myself.
