Nintendo Hires New Ad Agency
Karmarama wins a $13 million deal with Nintendo to serve as its new advertising agency.
Since the successful launch of the Wii, Nintendo has boosted its media spending from $5 million to $13 million. However, after previous advertising agency Leo Burnett, which held the account for seven years, stepped down from its partnership with Nintendo, four more agencies have launched a bidding war to work with Nintendo. Marketing firm Karmarama outbid Vallance Carruthers Coleman Priest (VCCP), Miles Calcraft Briginshaw Duffy (MCBD) and CDP win the $13 million deal.
Karmarama's clients include IKEA, CNN, Diageo, Good Year and The History Channel and is run by a 22-person team that manages a company blog [http://karmarama-stories.blogspot.com/].
