Old Debate in a New Arena: Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball

Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball [http://www.gamecockmedia.com/].

The debut title of developer Sho Kosugi [http://www.blazinglizard.com/]type thing.

Mike Wilson, Gamecock Grand Champeen, said, "If ever there was a team we were destined to work with and a game we were destined to publish, this is it! Going beyond the brilliant concept, Blazing Lizard has shown us that their title will set a new high bar for gameplay and graphical expectations in downloadable console games."

Blazing Lizard Studio Director Chris Stockman said his company elected to work with Gamecock because, "They understand what a developer wants out of a publisher. It was an easy decision to team with them on Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball, and we couldn't be happier."

Along with the quest for a Pirates of the Caribbean [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unified_field_theory] movies has reinvigorated the swashbuckling side of the debate.

No information regarding platform availability has been given, but Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball is scheduled for release as a downloadable title in the first quarter of 2008.

Hm. On the one hand, dodgeball eliminates the pirates' advantage of superior physical hardiness, since it only takes one hit to score. On the other hand, since it is a team sport, the ninjas will be subject to the Inverse Ninja Effectiveness Principle.

I'm not familiar with this principle, but I'm guessing it has something to do with the movies.

The Inverse Ninja Effectiveness Principle states that the total effectiveness of a group of n ninjas (where n > 0) is proportional to 1/n. Consequently, one ninja can beat two ninjas, two ninjas can beat three, and a guy with a mullet can beat twenty.

More interestingly, Blazing Lizard, according <a href =http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=15023>to Gamasutra, is made up of a few design and art leads from Volition, who recently worked on Saint's Row.

As long as when you randomly link IMDB and Wikipedia, you use the '' format. It works better.

But, <a href=http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=15252>in the same article you tried to link at Gamasutra, they point out that Pirates and Ninjas are only the first 2 of the 5 teams which will eventually be revealed.

Personally, I'm holding out for Robots. Though, everyone knows, it's just not a fair fight with robots. In something like Dodgeball, they'll always win, so for the sake of balancing, they'll probably not allow them as a team. Life just isn't fair.

But, CantFakeTheFunk, you've got 3 slots left, so maybe there will be Vikings after all. Why anyone would want Vikings, I have no idea, but just throwing it out there that you might still have hope.
