Wow, Activision are just not even trying to hide how transparently evil and greedy they are any more.

It would be frightening if I wasn't sure that this particular venture is going to flop harder than a walrus going off a diving board.

I am not 100% sure about this, but I am pretty sure 'Angry Birds' is on the PSN minis for like, 4 bucks or something like that. Which at the time seemed like a bit of a rip off at the time.

This is just sad considering people who can't download their games from the PC or cellphone who love Angry Birds are just going to get ripped off. Seriously now. THIS is what these developers think of Console gamers? Stupid and addicted to DLCs?

You PAY for that convenience.
Apparently whoever thought of this idea is a PC Elitist who likes to punish console gamers who hate console gamers for not liking PC gaming.

I got linked here by TB. Didn't know he was a reader. He could be on the forums with a secret identity.

I quite like Activision. I thought Modern Warfare 3 was a lot of fun, I own pretty much all the Skylanders figurines and think it's an awesome game, and I will be getting Skylanders: Giants when it comes out. I think they generally make high quality, enjoyable products.

This, however, is hands-down one of the most ridiculous cases of overpricing I've ever seen. Not since Dungeon Hunter: Alliance and Asphalt: Injection on the Vita have I seen the price so grossly overestimating the product. The thing that makes Angry Birds so popular is its portability...I thought everyone knew that. Apparently not Activision. Taking away that aspect and charging $40 (which will probably be about $70 over here in Australia) is frankly ridiculous.

Activision: reminding gamers that EA isn't the only company that likes to screw over their customers in the gaming industry.
Well, the DID merge with Blizzard. To me, that makes them a giant two-headed dick while EA is just...well, a giant dick.

No thanks, Activision. I already bought Angry Birds for my PSP for $2 a while back and, wouldn't you know it, I can play it on my PS3 as well!

Not only can I not see a good reason for jacking up the price, but I also don't know who this is marketed too. Angry birds is a more casual game. Causal gamers have an Ipad or touch-phone or something already. The only reason this will sell is to people who can't get it cheap on another platform, i.e. the guys with consoles and no other device that this stuff was on, i.e. a subsection of 'hardcore gamers'. Why would they want angry birds, especially at this cost. If it was cheap, great but at 40$ you have to really want it and I can't see lots of people wanting it that much on a console to not get it elsewhere.

Wow. Literally less than 3 percent of the material is new gets a price like THAT. They must have spared no expense making this the most eye-searingly beautiful thing ever constructed in the history of video games.

Not to sound like a fanboy for something that isn't even out yet, but the Ouya will theoretically have free Angry Birds on console with a touchpad.
So... yeah

God, I hope the sales are abysmal. XD Just how much do they have to try to milk something before they realize they can't even get blood out of it?

Does anyone seriously like this inane shit enough to bother buying in on a console in the first place, no matter the price? It's a mildly more enticing time-waster for 5 minutes than sitting still doing nothing is, that's it.

But those ads are pretty good! That's what separates Angry Birds from any other physics puzzler. What's that? You say it does nothing to increase your enjoyment of the game or the its value? Well, it made millions for Rovio, so I'm sure they'd say you're wrong.

I don't know what it's like for the rest of the world, but in Finland I can't go to the grocery store without running into a furious fowl or ten.

Wait, WHAT?!
Who thought that kind of pricing would be a good idea?
Not to mention, it's MUCH cheaper on mobile devices and PC, so why would anyone want to buy it at this level of mark up?
Activision bullshit at its finest.

Angry Birds is already a PSN Mini that only cost me 2 or 3 bucks. I am not buying $40 worth of DLC accessibility. Activision can shove it!
