Either that guy suffers from steroid abuse, or (insert phrase here)

I mean that... Thing... makes WoW's Lich King look conservative.

Honestly, there's a line and it was crossed. That plus the way they mixed like three different color schemes? Who on earth gave that thing a "go"?

At least the gameplay was decent(at best).

You get the feeling that there is probably going to be a wiki for this game some ridiculously long expositional description of where all of War's adornments come from and why he wears them. but no one will care and eventually people will decide that they just wanted him to look like a barbarian from WoW with Epic armour

I don't get the point of Twitter either.

Seems like a waste of time.

Anyhoo, great article. Still picking this game up though.

War's design really is a shame. Madureira's X-Men were drawn very well and I distinctly remember them not looking like an industrial dishwasher that grew legs.

I hear the game is good, though. I also hear that God of War is better, so I will check them both out at some point.

When describing War the his right and his left etc gets confused.. Not to nitpick Yahtzee for fear of being judged and condemned.. Possibly by Yahtzee dressed as Kratos...

I was hoping he would trash Warhammer 40k and finally accomplish his task of alienating every fanbase in the world, but a good article nonetheless.

Borderlands and its scrapyard Jason Voorhees fetish is just bizarre.

Yes, Darksiders definately did not go the right art direction.

The irony in this statement is one word. And that is:"Sexy."
Huh? I don't get it. Please explain.

Pretty much games that feature manly, badass character features is a 14 year old definition of a bad ass.

Good article on the purpose of art in video games. However the all time champ of overwrought character design still has to be Michael Bay's Transformers. Madureira's art isn't all that bad, and his work on Darksiders is no reason for him to put down the pen. I think it is more the producer's/designer's fault for hiring him in the first place. That and not controlling his artistic ambition for the sake of a better game.

Here are character that has too much shit going on: Salem and Rios. Unless they're wearing reinforced metal, those plates aren't doing didly squat. And those huge open gaps aren't helping either, boys xD

Yeah, at least half the "little details" on War could really stand being taken off of him. And I thought WoW's armor sets suffered from overdesign.

I like the War design, but I get it's not for everybody. My only real question is, what should a video game adaptation of War like?
