Question of the Day, Feb. 22, 2010

Just about every game has some kind of reward system these days, be it Achievements, Trophies, or Badges. Do you avidly collect them or ignore them?

Not really I just care about playing the game. But that said achievements are a nice little thing to do on the side.

If they can be gotten singleplayer, then all for. Especially the ones that reward creativity or hunting rarities, as opposed to just playing the game.

Recently for AVP I've been trying "Get to the Choppa" is my favourite trophy so far as well as "Stick around". Classic.

I like them, if only because they are a definite measure of how much you've played the game compared to the person who only bought the game because his friends told him to, completed it once on easy and lost the disk afterwards through inappropriate usage...

or something...

I like getting the occasional achievements that are actually a challenge, but overall I'm really not a person who avidly hunts them, they are more of a personal badge of honor for games I like. I feel good when I get them, but as soon as I see people with like 70k achievement points and a ton of BS games that gave them like a 1000 points just for playing while my Arkham Asylum 40 hit combo or Bioshock 2's Big Brass Balls achievement is only worth like 10 points I stop caring.

I just love playing the game through and getting the random achievements. Then after the game has been beaten, that is when I begin to achievement hunt, as it challenges me to play the game a different way, or to try something new

Yeah, I suppose I do. Though I will over really go out of my way for achievements/trophies if I'm playing a game I like and I've already played it through once already.

Got to agree, if I get something for it, I will gladly go off to hunt achievements. How else will my xbox live avatar be kitted out with left for dead 2 stuff.

Yes. I've got three platinums since I got my PS3 in October, and 89% on Bioshock 2. I probably wouldn't have even touched the multiplayer if it wasn't for trophies.
