Pokemon Educational Program Helps Kids Learn About Science

Called "Master the Science... Master the Game," the program includes printable lesson plans and activities on topics such as "Timekeeping by the Sun" and "Traveling with Dirty Snowballs" for elementary school students, and "Expanding Universe" and "Life of a Star" for grades 6-8. The materials can be downloaded by teachers or students at www.masterthescience.org [http://www.masterthescience.org].
"We're honored to have our characters take what sometimes may seem like dry topics and help make them come alive for students," said Nintendo of America's George Harrison. "The collaboration provides an opportunity for children to learn 21st century science using 21st century tools with characters they're familiar with."
"We are thrilled to offer educators a resource program that utilizes popular characters to enhance the learning experience for students in fields of study that will only grow more crucial a we move forward in the 21st century," added National Institute of Aerospace President and Executive Director Robert Lindberg.
Another similarly-themed program, the Pokemon Learning League [http://www.pokemonlearningleague.com/], offers lessons for math, science, life skills and language arts.
